Do you not realize how much the government impacts farming? How many people in these occupy movements depend on getting your food from a grocery store? What happens when farmers can no longer get the financial support needed to manage their farms... especially the little guys? How will the farmers meet the demands of exponential population growth and the lack of land in inner cities?

but if corporations are taxed at a higher level then Monsanto would not be able to rake the farmers over the coals.

A lot of these Ag Corporations contract work to little farmers in which they do the work and supply the food... Also these large corporations get a lot of their support again from the government. Yes this country may be wasteful but do not be foolish enough to believe that just because we have millions of twinkies in the US this movement can shut down our current economy and we will still have the support needed to produce this food. There is a reason why other countries are considered 3rd world and we are on this path

Currently we produce way way more food than this country consumes. As such, we end up either trashing it all together, or dumping it on 3rd world countries for super cheap and running their farmers out of business.

And secondly, we have almost no independent farmers any more. The vast majority of our food chain is dominated by large agri corps like Monsanto, Cargill, ADM, etc.

How do your wages compare?

If these people get their way there will be massive land reform and destroy the livelihood of people that depend on farming for a paycheck.
