This forum is an endless parade of opinions. That's ok, people need to express their views. But it's pointless when this doesn't result in polls on various important issues. At least then you can see where you stand, united or divided, and possibly action can be taken based on consent. For starters, vote on issues that should be voted for. Be the democracy you demonstrate for. It's so simple...
Anyone in favour of this idea?
Dismantle of political party system. Abandonment of Lobbyist. End Privatization of the Federal Reserve. Enforced regulation of Wall Street. Health Care & Universities available to ALL Americans . Close all foreign stationed Military Bases. Tax breaks to small business to be able to compete price wise with larger chain stores. Higher taxes on imports and tax breaks for companies that stays U.S. Based. Build American Farming infrastructure again. Reduce Military Budget. Out of All Wars. No Drones in countries we are not in war with. Transparent Govt. For the people by the people. Over hall of the Food and Educational System.

Not a bad idea at all. Similar to the Petition that solicited 300,000 people to tell Bloomberg to let OWS occupy Zucotti Park. If every major topic/demand was posted as a separate Petition... then a vote could be take that would indicate all those IN FAVOR say "aye".
We have been suggesting for weeks to setup a phpbb based forum which is more organized and easy to navigate than this mess and has a built in poll mechanism. We got so tired that a group us went and setup one forum of our own with poll/voting feature. Please check it out: www.themultitude.org
I understand you got frustrated, I checked your site, it's really great, but they should have done it HERE, this is where everybody is. The question is: how do we contact the admins to implement thsi? It really is very frustrating, it's as if OWS isn't really interested in becoming a democratic movement.
It is not exactly my site, but one of us took the initiative to have it up and running. I hope and wish they get a phpbb based forum up and running with polling/voting feature, here in the OWS site. For the time being it would be good if the OWS admins could provide a link to our forum, so people who want a serious discussion can go there. When there is a proper phpbb forum, we can of course all move back to a phpbb based OWS forum, provided that there is good admins/mods who can keep out trolls.
We will appreciate if people join the forum and participate, if nothing else but to pressure the OWS people to come up with a similar phpbb based forum where many of us can volunteer as admins/mods and remove trolls and agent provocateurs who are out to destroy the momentum of this movement.
Well the registration information is unclear. The donations go through Nicaragua. Anytime there is a call for moderator or any issue involving the forum. It seems to go unnoticed. Make of it what you will.

We are Change, they say. But until voting is implemented on this site to reflect the people's views (with vote counts and stats and everything) I have my doubts about thetrue democratic nature of OWS. This forum is obsolete, it also doesn't serve the representation of OWS to the outside world.
'go unnoticed' you say. It's a euphemism for plainly ignoring the issue. And ignorance is not a sign of intelligence.
Then again, give them time, I think, They'll get there. Eventually. Who is going to change this, I don't know. It's just stupid, a loss of precious time and opportunities.
Maybe not completely. There seems to be some here that have recieved educations, they were not expecting. This movememt has at the very least, even if it died right now, contributed to an awakening of a mass of people. Who may otherwise still be wondering...WTF happend to our country?
Yes, this is true. But IMHO OWS should become the change, be democratic/sociocratic, BE the model of change itself instead of directing mass grievances against a minority which is not willing nor capable of allowing more democracy or a justful redistribution of wealth. We have to do this among ourselves by occupying the planet and re-arranging things the way WE want. But maybe OWS is still in it's startup phase and will gradually evolve there. Getting a message out on a gloabl scale is an unprecedented event in itself, and a very hopeful one as such,

Many more people will come to your side when you are proactive (for “new” Business & Government solutions), instead of reactive (against “old” Business & Government solutions), which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive “new” strategy that implements all our various socioeconomic demands at the same time, regardless of party, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves; that is, using a Focused Direct Democracy organized according to our current Occupations & Generations. Why? Because there are Natural Social Laws – in mathematical sequence – that are just like Natural Physical Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. You must follow those Natural Social Laws or the result will be Injustice, War, etc.
The FIRST step in Natural Social Law is to CONTROL the Banks as Bank Owner-Voters. If you do not, you will inevitably be UNJUSTLY EXPLOITED by the Top 10% Management Group of Business & Government who have a Legitimate Profit Motive, just like you, to do so.
Consequently, you have no choice but to become Candidates (or Leaders) yourselves as Bank Owner-Voters according to your current Occupation & Generation.

TOTALLY AGREE WITH THAT ! Endless discussions on the internet...Very stimulating. But leaves an impression of a big mess. And what about people who don't have access to the internet ?
Go ask their opinion, door to door, and publish the results online. They're the 99% too, right? Get everyone involved on this, use the means and technology that you still have access to...
