Hi All, I am not one to jump on a bandwagon, but this guy is so clear and straight forward. Give him an ear and determine for yourselves.

I love his $100 dollar campaign limit.

Seriously? I'd much prefer Rocky Anderson, who has openly said that his values are in line with and who has visited Occupy locations. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrIsqInnW1k

He sounds good too. Someone on a similar post suggested they run together. Check Buddy out.

I'd like to see a Left-Right coalition with Rocky and Roemer. Buddy isn't making an impact on the GOP race whatsoever, so it would make sense for him to join forces with a Third Party ticket such as Rocky's Justice Party ticket. Roemer has gotten a little more press than Rocky, I heard of him initially on NPR and he's been on Colbert, so Rocky's campaign would benefit from the name recognition. And the concept of a Republican and a former Democrat both running on an anti-corruption platform would be certain to get attention. I encourage Roemer supporters (and Rocky supporters) to join the Justice Party forums on justicepartyusa.net in order to make this coalition happen.

Buddy Roemer may be to the right of where I am personally (I haven't seen any of his campaign platform other than the "no money in politics" plank, which I have to admit is incredibly refreshing to start hearing from people on both (or neither) side of the aisle), and I don't see myself voting for him in the general election, but Buddy Roemer appears to be a man I can respect. At the very least, I can say for sure that I would not be scared to have this man as my president (which is more than I can say for almost the entire current GOP field other than maybe Huntsman)

Zendog already has my vote.

That's great you have your candidate. We all need to have someone we believe in. This election year could be interesting if OWSers create the waves we're capable of making .http://occupywallst.org/forum/buddy-roemer-for-president-seriously-check-him-out/# LET'S MAKE WAVES our morning mantra LET'S MAKE WAVES

;) agree

[-] 3 points by brightonsage (4494) 12 years ago

;) agree Only make sense that the GOP wouldn't let him into the debates. He would make the rest of the clowns in the car look like clowns in a car.

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

That's a great image for what's going on at the debates.

Hey Shooz, This is what I dug up from reddit:

"Thanks for taking the time, Governor. I've been following you on twitter and Google+ and registered here at reddit to ask this:

You've shown your willingness to switch parties when you find yourself no longer agreeing with them, do you think it's time to do so again? Why not run as an Independent since your opinion on many issues is not only contrary but the opposite of what passes for a Republican these days? Isn't it time to admit that the party has changed into something that doesn't represent you?

I'm trying to avoid that. I have experience of changing parties. There is much in the GOP that I support. The issue where we differ is money in the political system and I think they are just like democrats in that regard. I am not trying to change parties but change a nation."

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

I meant what I said.

There is very little in the (R)epelican platform that I support.

Over the last 10 years, I've lost all faith in their ability to govern, in good faith.

Cap it off with the current, unconscionable stonewalling and teabaggery.

He's running on one issue alone.

I'm sick of these goddamn pelicans - cormorants 2012 for lyfe

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

Actually it was from the cormorant website that I obtained the reddit credit.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

In the current parlance it's pronounced as..........(R)epel---------ican.

It fits, as they certainly have learned to repel me over the years..

[-] 1 points by philosophersstoned (233) from Gypsum, CO 12 years ago

Re-Pelican... It's Pelicans all the way down.

Cormorants are a change I can believe in. Cormorant/Penguin 2012 forever

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

As long as it's not those nasty gannets.

There's some loons up here in the northern tier that might be persuaded to run.

Cheap too.........They'll do it for a few fish.

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

I was advocating Dolphin/Whales, myself, party animals for the party hardy party. It appears Roemers not that hot on legaleed, which would certainly be on the buffet table of this parties platform.

[-] 1 points by philosophersstoned (233) from Gypsum, CO 12 years ago

not that hot on what?

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

legal+weed=legaleed. I put it in code in case any children were reading the posts

Legalizing Marijauana

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

Did you like my sluething?

[-] 1 points by cJessgo (729) from Port Jervis, PA 12 years ago

I love that his name has that dog sound

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

Zendog or Budddy Roemer?

[-] 3 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Zendog is a much cooler name.

Budroemer?

Sounds like a pot head.

Nothin' against pot heads, I'm just sayin'.

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

Check him out. I find him so refreshing to listen to, my breathing becomes deeper and more relaxed. That's what clear speaking does to the listeners.

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

What's his affiliated label? Or labels as the case may be.

Reagan could turn out a nice sounding speech too.

As long as he didn't write it.

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

His $100 limit speaks reams. He doesn't kowtow to special interests. I believe his sincerity transcends labels.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

That's nice, but it doesn't answer the question.

What's his party history?

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

I just discovered him so I don't know everything about him. What I suggested is that you check him out. On the link in the post, it said that he was a democrat at some point and also has served as a republican. I am not that attached to any particular party, I was just happy to hear and intelligent person with experience. In your opinion is there any merit to one party over another?

[-] 2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

If it makes any difference to you, from my point of view the (R)epelicans are corrupted beyond redemption.

Stonewalling in times of severe economic crises is unconscionable.

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

Stonewalling is infantile behavior. I agree with you on that point. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

[-] 1 points by guitarmywin (158) 12 years ago

Oh, that's a shame. It is a great exercise of the soul to listen objectively to another with views you may have antipathy for. (excuse the grammar) Just give him an ear. Try just a taste. You might like it.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

From what I can see he talks a good game.

He should change parties though, as today's GOP will crush him like a bug.

If he remains an (R), he will not get my vote.
