BREAKING: Today, after unrelenting pressure from thousands of Forecast the Facts supporters, Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt announced that it dumped ALEC for spreading lies about climate change:

"Everyone understands climate change is occurring and the people who oppose it are really hurting our children and our grandchildren and making the world a much worse place. And so we should not be aligned with such people — they're just, they're just literally lying."

This is a major victory, and it comes on the heels of the historic People's Climate March. It's proof that companies are listening to the growing calls for climate action. That's why we have to let Google know we appreciate this step in the right direction — and urge them to immediately follow suit and stop bankrolling climate change deniers in Congress.

Tell Google: Keep up the good work and dump the congressional Climate Denier Caucus next!

Victory: Google Dumps ALEC!

Factually yours,

Sylvie, Ryan, Emily, Brant and the rest of the Forecast the Facts team

Hey Nevada1

Fewer climate idiots as time goes by and education spreads - but we have got to get past the tipping point ASAP. Today's action gives me real hope.

Agree. Every bit of awareness helps.

I like to at times like these - remember the concept of 6 degrees of separation - and look at the potential for growth - because we need to hit a real point of massive saturation..

[-] 2 points by Nevada1 (5843) 9 years ago

"Massive Saturation"----that sounds right. How is MSM tv responding?

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

MSM ? I have not seen anything yet - but I fully expect to see a lot of downplay for any coverage that does get presented. A 1st look will come tomorrow on the daily news "shows" as well as a brief blurb to be expected from PBS.

RT giving higher billing, than MSM sites (reluctantly mentioning).

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 9 years ago

Russia Today ( I can understand your reluctance ) - I fully expect them to give more attention to protests in the USA than we will see from any domestic msm news (?) source - the same with Al Jazera.

I also expect to see more attention given to protests in Russia and in the middle east - from sources outside of both of those areas.

Often times - to see a fuller representation of what is going on inside of your own country - one must look for an outside source.
