Ebola containment belonged in Liberia..."contain the threat before it attacks us at home" "stop the threat from spreading" help the people rid their country of the threat or reduce it to more manageable level" "teach the citizens there to fight the threat" ....all of this was preached for us for over a decade. But - clearly our government has been lying they aren't protecting us ...they are creating reasons corporations can profit. Containing ebola by sending boots on the ground was much more achievable and cheap by comparison to "to containing Isis" they just now sent boots on the ground to Liberia. Why because there is no MONEY to be made containing Ebola in Liberia. War is profitable. War is not about protecting us. Its not about helping protect local populations in other countries from threats. So ...they left our citizens vulnerable to a disease that has a 75 percent death rate, has no cure and that could mutate and go airborn because viruses evolve . They let it fly through our airways while patting down your grandma. But in actuality they don't want to do anything that will effect commerce...they trade threats like stocks picking and choosing depending on the money to be made or that it may interfere with. Our government does not protect us ( or our global neighbors) it protects corporate interests. Let's be clear on that. Corporate hospitals stand to make good money treating ebola here at home. That's why we didn't fight it in Liberia.
