We need to take back the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) from big Pharma.
FDA is largely funded by Big Pharma through the use of "Users Fee".
In 2010 pharmaceutical companies paid over 500 millions dollars to the FDA. Revolving door policy allow FDA execs to join Big Pharma when they leave office.
Breakthrough modern medicines are being suppressed to maximize profits from ineffective medicines and treatments that dates back to the 1970's.
Please watch the 5 stars, 2010 documentary "Burzynski".
Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski breakthrough cancer treatments and the epic battles he had to wage with the FDA funded by big pharma and the cancer treatment industries.
It will make you want to kick FDA, Big Pharma and your doctor's ass.
SHAME! SHAME! SHAME!
"Report Shows How Big Pharma Is Price Gouging Cancer Patients"!!!
"Cancer patients — the majority of whom are on Medicare — can face annual out-of-pocket costs of more than $16,500."
radix omnium malorum - est cupiditas!
"Big Pharma Is Massively Overcharging Americans"! -- by Andrew Perez and Mattew Cunningham-Cook:
"Drugmakers are up in arms over a new program allowing Medicare to negotiate prices on some drugs. The real scandal, of course - is the absurd prices the companies set for these drugs’ sale in the United States, when they are sold for so much less elsewhere."
caveat actor et emptor!
Burzynski represents only one of hundreds of cancer treatments that exist in the non-pharma world. Actually his program is long, expensive and fairly invasive compared to easier cancer treatments that are hundreds or thousands of years old. His success lies with a few cancers but their are broad spectrum treatments all over the globe. You don't want the FDA or any other government or corporate interests in those subjects. You're better off the farther they stay away.
Real talk.... take the pill/pills to solve your problems, lets not address the food we eat and the shit that is put in it.
A friend after my own thoughts. Are you at Organic Consumers.org?
All the Big Pharma companies were completely on board with the Obamacare Bill.
Why is there no criticism of that? The Big Pharma companies were all given their "carve outs" in the Obamacare bill. All of them gave generously to the Obama campaign.
The Obamacare Bill was a complete and total Democrat Party bill forced on the American public by extremely unusual and not normal means.
Republicans DID NOT vote for any of that travesty.
Big Pharma = Democrats
Big Pharma does not equal Democrats. The democrats were trying to give you some rights that you should have and do not have any hopes of under a system without Obamacare. For instance, the right to be covered in spite of pre-existing medical conditions such as the common illnesses of asthma and high blood pressure. You also need to have the right to get sick with a major illness, and not be thrown off your existing policy. If you're young and healthy, you have no idea how important this clause is because all insurances have the right to cap, rate up and refuse to renew based on catastrophic, expensive illnesses. You should have the right to portability, meaning that you are not tied to an employer or a job just because of an insurance benefit, one of the true forms of present day slavery. You should be free to leave any job and take it with you when you go if you decide to become self employed as we did years ago. Obamacare also opened up the door for the millions of us who chose to run our own companies rather than put up one more minute with a boss just because of health care issues.
If these rights and any rights are too much for you, you are probably at the wrong website. You need to be over at TeaBaggersville where they devise ways to screw the average citizen out of any rights at all.
As far as big pharma goes, they're going to catch a ride on any bill coming out of Congress because that is what big industrial Republican special interests do. They play the game at any end of the spectrum. And you are forgetting something major here. The drugs have to come from somewhere like big pharma. It is not likely that any healthcare bill will ever be enacted without their say in it unless it is one sponsored by people like myself that prohibits all forms of pharmaceutical medicine.
You sir, are either very naive or just plain ignorant. Do you think Big Pharma only lobbied the Dems? The equation then is: Big Pharma = Democrats + Republicans.
That's what part of this movement is all about.
Oh by the way, just a little friendly advice. Stop watching Fox News it will rot your brain and renders you intellectually sterile.
Bingo, mate.

I completely agree with fixing the revolving door problem; see http://www.themultitude.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=184 section VIII for some of the policy ideas I have with regard to lobbying.
