Forum Post: Beware of AstruTurfs in the forums

Spending some time on the forums recently I'm starting to notice a pattern. It is being overridden with posts that strive to undermine this movement and pit one commentator against another.

It isn't simply disagreeing with a certain point of view but rather an out-pouring of fundamental differences masking themselves as people wanting to learn and understand more. It's great if you don't understand and come to the website to learn about the movement but we all know too well about RW AstroTurf groups targeting specific newspaper sites and other forums to spread their ideology.

Everyone will ultimately judge for themselves but keep this cautionary warning in mind please.

They've been here since the start.

They seem to come in ideological waves.

As Jesse LaGreca says maintain the narrative. AStroturf may try to use other narratives that are harmful. Recent post about Unions donating to DNC equating to corporate donations, this is a false narrative. Unions are not equal to Unions. And the real issue is taking big money out of politics, not equating Unions with Corporations.

Confusion and dilution are the passive then there are are the active, which are agreements that are derogetory and reinforce the negative while pretending to be nuetral.
