Forum Post: Better Organization

I have a mortgage payment and college debt. I am also blessed to have a mind that lets me work to pay those bills. But I do understand the problems we face.

The real question to ask yourself is: "How do you get someone like me to join the 24/7 protest?"

You have to convince people to leave the comfort of their home and their paycheck. And the only way you can do this - is if you can offer people a comfortable place to sleep. You must be able to offer people food to eat. You must be able to handle sanitation and disciplined non-violence.

When you are able to organize volunteers in a sustainable way - so that the movement actually abandons the current system and chooses the sustainable system that you offer: then you will have real change because you have become the change.
