Ok so Obama sent out an email asking for money today. I think that in response we should flood his inbox/facebook/twitter with links to the live stream and to the occupywallstreet website!

There's an Obama fundraiser at the Four Seasons in NYC today. Obama and Warren Buffett will be there. OWS should protest there too. This is exactly what OWS is about - money in politics.

I would really like to see what politicians think about all of this... but so far, I haven't seen nor heard anything from any of them.

I think they're waiting to pick their side on the issue, perhaps floating ideas with smaller groups and waiting for more things to solidify. From the outside, it looks like we're just angry and disorganized, but in the inside, things are coming together.

No offense to anyone, but I prefer things angry and disorganized.

This really fits the way that we have been treated, and really fits the fact that there are a million and a half real issues out there that need serious attention.

I have a real concern that with reorganization, a lot of the real issues will fall by the wayside.

We start, for example, by working on rebuilding the banking industry... they pass a few minor regulations with built in loopholes, people feel like they have accomplished something, and go home. The end.

What happens to all the real concerns, then, about freedom of speech? 9-11? Foreign policy?

They each have to stand in line for their watershed moment in history... maybe another generation away... and maybe, like the Kennedy Assassination, it simply get swept under the rug until everyone knows the government did it, but nobody cares enough to do anything about it.

This is unacceptable.

Now imagine that you have a large portion of the country angry and disorganized... they are angry about an entire plethora of things. What minor, worthless bill do you pass to appease them?

No, rather, at that point, to avoid real, serious issues, you HAVE to open up the national dialog.

THAT is the goal.
