Avaaz Action Alert

In a world of deceptive, fraudulent and predatory banking practices, it is interesting to note that in Bangladesh there is a bank where the board is elected by the people. The Grameen Bank offers micro loans without collateral.

Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to change the rules - she wants to take over.

Avaaz has a petition on the subject now - at the time of this writing they have 540,188 signatures, and are looking for 750,000.

I hate corrupt politicians. No doubt, if this corrupt politician gets her way, this bank will become another means of exploiting the poor.

My name is on there.

How about yours?

Looks like we both got the news on the same day Zendog.

The more ways to get this petition out there, the better the outcome will be.

Local people banks are popping up here in Australia, because we're sick of having more fees added, while services are being cut, and the banksters are handing themselves "performance" bonuses.

What are they, dancing seals or something? As if a million bucks a year salary isn't enough for signing some paperwork, and sitting in airconditioning all day.

Screw the criminal world bank, and their suited mafia underlings.

I've signed it. Help us out here, people.
