Forum Post: Arresting Officer "doing security in a law enforcement capacity" At Romney Event Says Student “Hadn’t Done Anything” but “It’s not my job to give people an explanation”

One of the officers involved in arresting a Harvard Divinity School student at a Romney campaign event in New Hampshire said that the student “hadn’t done anything.”

“I guess you could say we were doing security in a law enforcement capacity,” Lamarche said. The campaign “hired us through the town. I was there to provide police service to the Romney staff who had hired the town of Hudson to hire me.”

As for why exactly the student, Matt Bieber, was removed, “It’s the staff’s word against his,” Lamarche said. “It’s not my job to give people an explanation.”

The student was probably caught THINKING - a big no-no in post-NDAA America.

Shame on that Harvard Divinity School student for daring to THINK at a Romney campaign event in New Hampshire !!!

He reminds me of that truly BAAAAAAAAAAD egg George Carlin, who used to say: "I'm not a good American: I like to think for myself!!!".

Thinking should be outlawed in this country. I say close down all the colleges and the universities and plunk everyone in front of TV or have them listen to Limbaugh, Hanity, Beck, Levin, Harley or McNamera.

Yeah.... Give them a choice between radio or TV. This is a free country, after all, ain't it?

I'm thinking you've put too much thought into this.

I'm thinking the occupy movement should use this to expose that our police, our public servants are being hired by the 1% to ignore the law, but then use our public facilities to lock someone up FOR NOTHING just because Romney told them to.

This HAS to be illegal!

It's very scary to think this goes on. Good for the kid to blog about it.

I can already sense the national outrage once they hear from OWS on this. (Now here's where that sarcasm font I've been hoping for for years would come in handy. I feel the need to include that since there have been more than a few 40 watters here who can't seem to pick up on it.)

Well, the outrage wasn't the kids arrest

The outrage was that Romney wanted to put the student in an airtight dog cage strapped to the roof of his car for a road trip.

Once you get that sarcasm font, pass it on, I need it from time to time : D
