I like the fact that people are talking about what is wrong. Talk is good as long as it ends at some point and people get involved to make changes. the fact is that there is leadership...and it is central...and it hides behind twitter and sits in Vancouver. And when the leader tweets the people respond. The leader is just not man enough to stand up and assume responsibility for the child he has created. To claim this is a leaderless group when the domain names were registered on June and AUgust and then to tweet the marching orders and hide is gutless. I would no more follow a leader who hides behind a mask than I would follow Hitler. Transparency in leadership as well as funds.
There are leaders among the group, true leaders that help others find leadership in themselves. I have already tracked down who I think is who you claim is the "leader" but he isn't the leader.

The good thing about this group is that you lead yourself. You join the OWS movement, offer your opinions and ideas on what and how changes can or need to be made and help others implement theirs.
This movement does not need a leader. This movement needs people to lead themselves. If you have a strong leader, then you have one person that is strong. If you help all to become strong, then you have made a strong country.
Your choice to help or hinder.
it would be nice to see people going in the same direction instead of people going in twenty different directions and then in circles. You do not need a BOSS you need someone who listens and then says hey what do you all think of this? And then says let's got! I have seen people trying to make speeches, while people are banging on the drum 10 feet away from them while others have their back to the speech maker and are yelling in a different direction. At least when we protested back in the 70's we all were respectful of each others speeches and considerate of each other. I don't see that here. I see everyone doing what they want to regardless if it is rude to those around them. It seems many people only think of "me" and not you or you or even for the greater good of the group. Again don't confuse a boss with a leader.

why doesn't the occupy movement adopt the declaration and support it.

why doesn't the occupy movement as a whole adopt the declaration and support it. As far as this website presents the movement it seems fractured into small group that seldom agree on any issue. The declaration seems to be an idea that finally gets the movement off the ground but on here it's treated like just another post. By not recognizing and implementing ideas that unify and categorize grievances nothing is going to get done! At least http://occupywallst.org/ should create a tab at the top of the home page so visitors can vote for it, and if this website doesn't support the declaration they should say so and give the reasons why not! As for me voting I had not luck signing the petition because I forgot my password and for some reason yet to be explained the website will not email me a password reset message.

You are 100% right and that is the beauty of this country. We are free to speak, we are free to protest, we are free to choose who we work for, we are free to choose where we live, what we wear, who we are friends with, what we read, what we right, what we buy or don't buy, and who we elect. People who do not want to get involved in politics have little right to protest. If you want change you need to get involved. Call the Republican or Democratic Town Committee in the town you live in and ask how you can become involved. At election time go work at the headquarter and get to know the people. Lastly make your big move and ask to run for something or...do it the hard way on your own..find out what you need to do to get your name on the ballot..collect signatures, turn them wherever your town says to turn them and then start knocking on doors, standing in shopping centers and kissing babies. But remember if you are a guy and your hair is matted in dreds and your ass and dick are hanging out of your jeans and you smell nobody is going to let you kiss their baby let alone vote for you. Change happens from the inside out.
The very best thing this movement could do right now is to turn this into a Saturday 10 AM to 10 PM only event for a number of reasons. A. People are losing sympthay and respect for this movement. Why? Because this movement has cost taxpayers TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Who do you think pays for police for these Occupy protests? The people who own property in that city pay. When the city sends out tax bills this year there will be a little something extra on it that each taxpayer in the city has to pay to cover the Occupy police and cleanup. Right now I would put a conservative estimate that this OWS/DC/Oakland etc. has most likely hit the $30-40 million dollar mark.
B. People would rather their tax dollars be spent to educate their children, pave their streets and fund their programs-things they get something back from- than cleaning up and controlling protestors. Once a month would be best, once a week if you have to ...but these encampments need to stop. C. When the protestors engage in battle with the police you are fighting with someones husband, brother father, cousin, uncle and so on. This is not a robo cop people are throwing crap at . It is a human being that is worried that he is going to end up getting hurt and won't be able to feed his family. 99% of the police are not thrilled with having to have ANY physical contact with anyone. The more the police have to deal with violence the quicker the community is going to hate the protestors. Once you turn the communities against you it is over. Every tax payer will be screaming for your removal. And then you will be removed. C2. Your message has been muddled from the start due to name calling. Many of the 1% are respected in their communities. They are the ones who dontate money to build that new wing at the hospital. The are the ones that donate scholarships to the high schools and universities and most importantly they are the employeers of the tax payers that are being pissed off. Lay off the 1%. D. Learn to clearly get your points across. The muddle Vancouver language just is not working. Lose the terms corrupt, evil, corrupt because they are just words. Instead ask for things such as, "we would like to see campaign rules changed. we believe that corporations should not be allowed to contribute to campaigns and donations by individuals should be limited to $5000. 99.9% of the politicans can't be bought for $5000, so limit contributions to that amount. (of course they will still tell their kids to donate, the wife, the aunt that is in a coma etc. ) but that is called bundling and that is already illegal. Protesting is everyone's right and it should be used. However you do not need to be in the street to do it. Organize letter writing campaigns. Make phone calls to your politicans (and don't fucking twitter or tweet or whatever it is so that 500 people make stupid calls all in one day because the message will go down the toilet. AND GET INVOLVED in a concrete way.
I agree with a lot of your post. Turn this into a nation wide organization and strike. Picket the Court, Picket the Police Stations, picket Wall Street and picket the legislative offices. Picket the banks.
Present an amendment to remove corporations from power and tell the government to pass it or there will be a national strike and boycott. Give the legislators a date and if they balk, shut the country down.

When the power to create our money and credit is in private hands, and based on an exclusive franchise for debt-money creation and sale of bonds at interest - as opposed to direct Treasury financing - then the entire economic and social system is set up for private profit, and debt ruin, at public expense. As history has proven, this structure is virtually guaranteed to result in endless predation, corruption, and eventual collapse at immense public expense.

We are powerless at the hands of the real owners of the “Federal’ Reserve – i.e., the major investment banks and historic banking families both here and abroad.
