Over the years in our history, corporations have somehow fallen in our laws to be deemed as individuals. Last I checked, I do not see arms, legs, a head and a body, but they will screw you in any way that is allowed by the so called elected members of our government. It is still against the law for corporations or unions to directly fund campaign coffers, but it allows corporations to fund attack ads on opponents, even though it is not direct to their favored candidate to do so.

This was an absolute travesty that our Supreme court gave corporations the right to bypass our laws by making them people in the eyes of the law. Basically it states that money is speech.

In my eyes, money is an exchange for bread, housing, clothing and other goods and services. The cloud of money has hurt our country and if you want to save our country, there is a first step in the process, because we all know that corporate money can buy a louder voice than any one individual.

Our solution is simple. If you amend the constitution so that the scope of the first amendment only covers individuals, than you take away the mouth pieces of these large corporations that pollute our political system and buy their candidates. What we need to do is work through our states to call for a Constitutional Convention under Article V of the US Constitution.

We are convening a meeting here so that you can see on the web through an interactive conference and through a Skype group that is in the works.

For those of you that really wish to get the money out of our politics, this is the way that it can be done legally. McCain-Feingold is probably the one place where I agreed with the former presidential candidate, even though the vast majority of his current colleagues oppose this legislation, as does the Supreme Court. We need to eliminate the back door for the Supreme Court to allow corporations to control campaigns through money interests.

Here is a national security note: If corporations do not have to disclose where they got their money from to fund attack ads or campaign ads, than foreign money can be used to influence our elections. Do you honestly believe nations like China who profit off of the status-quo want to see things ever change?

100% correct, only a consitutional congress can create the needed change peacefully; our governement is a (the?) key part of the problem; and must be a part of the solution or things will reset themselves permanently. Beyond campaign contributions, we must also put an end to lobbying activies that give corps access to super-representation WITHOUT voting or having inaliable rights! March on Washington with a clear solution to end the corruption, before we follow the path of the Roman Empire.

This is the root cause of all the symptoms that you mention. First as a movement, we need to hit on the root cause. I would advise that you get a Skype account. Private message it to me and I can add you to our meeting group so we can work from the ground up using the states' rights to call for an Article V constitutional convention. It takes 34 states to approve convening to amend the constitution. We are going to run web conferences on this issue and the big money interests will try to block it and fail.

You hit it on the head - I don't know why more people are not realizing that this is the root of the problem. The current state of "corporate personhood" is allowing a government created entity (who's sole purpose is to make profits while being shielded from personal liability) to disenfranchise the vote of the American people. Right now corporations, many of who have foreigners on their boards of directors, have more influence on our political system than the American voter. Currently they have our politicians bought and paid for.
