I haven't posted in a while, but I just came across this infringement in a post a few minutes ago. It would seem the US has been distracting us with the PIPA and SOPA, when they have already signed the ACTA. One could say that the SOPA and PIPA are further constraining the little rights we have after ACTA. Here's a link to its Wikipedia:
The scope of ACTA includes counterfeit goods, generic medicines and copyright infringement on the Internet. A signing ceremony was held on 1 October 2011 in Tokyo, with the United States, Australia, Canada, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea signing the treaty. Both the Bush administration and the Obama administration had rejected requests to make the text of ACTA public, with the White House saying that disclosure would cause "damage to the national security."
I have never heard of it, so I assumed I should share this information. Sorry, if this is old news. Thoughts?
