We need to support "Alternative news sources" aka "Real News". Today's Corporate owned media, amounts to nothing more than propaganda. They are either promoting their own corporate narrative or cheerleading the corrupt govt they own.
Anonymous has raised almost $55,000 to start their own news site. Let #OWS help Anonymous by attacking the establishment from a different angle. To help, #OWS should have the audacity to start their own MSM watchdog grading entity. Boldly appoint themselves as "The Authority", that grades and critiques corporate journalism. This tactic would help Occupy take the high ground and have the ability to talk down to the establishment in a condecending manner. Promote Occupy as having Superiority, by speaking truth to power.
Grade the largest corporate MSM news sources based on importance, relevance, etc.. If the resources are missing, start small. Ask for help from university journalist professors/students Take on one giant a week. CNN this week, Fox the next. i.e. discredit CNN's poor coverage, corporate leanings and substandard journalism. "Occupy gives CNN a failing grade for this week's news coverage"(followed by critiques on specific journalistic failures and suggestions for improvements. Point out how much important news they ignored for coverage of nonsense, etc.
Great idea. Ony one problem, if we were to grade MSMs, we would then have to waste some of our valable time reading/listening to the slop. We all already know MSMs are total bunk, so we all better off utilizing our time and resources elsewhere.
Cable news is the worst crap. I remember wasting an hour watching CNN one day. They spent half an hour covering the Jodie Arias trial, and the other half covering stranded cruise ships and miscellaneous wedge fluff. Giant newsworthy stories were ignored, to cover this garbage.
To cap the show off, Wolf Blitzer and Candy Crowley were bragging that they would be seeing each other later that night at a journalist awards dinner in D.C. I had to laugh, they get awards for this sh*t.
That kind of hour made me kill my TV and start demanding that free speech get unabridged NOW.
That was about 5 years before I realized ART5 is the only way to end the abridging of free speech.
