The morons in charge cant lead. We are doomed. Stupid committee failed. Not surprising.

My father is a very, very highly decorated military vet and he also says, we missed the target. We waited too long. If we had this movement a few years back, we could've turned the tide. As it is now, the establishment has too many assets and resources setup for just such an eventuality as this movement. Bloodshed has become the only way to make change occur, because the time for talking has long passed. That's His take using his extensive experience of matters in the world. What's yours?
our countries own fore fathers understood the corruptability of our republic. Jefferson advocated that periodically there should be assessments of the republic to keep it sound and avoid it's eventual flaws hat would lead to corruption. This country has always been about money and power. From the days of the robber barons until now. Along the way the middle class began to get a short leg up but the monied interests will have none of that.
They have always hated social reforms, Unionization, the ability for the common man to educate themselves. Hell we've got to be too dumb to see or way of life be destroyed in front of our eyes. The robber barons needed our grand parents and great grand parents to build this country. They came from all over the world to work for pennies on the dollar to build this nation. Now these monied interests don't need our grand children and great grand children. They exploit the labor of those around the world because technology has made that happen and of course the help of our elected officials that lie down with those dogs of capitilism.

20 years? 6-8 months, tops.
The only possible thing that can hold this country together is the people and the popular movement.

Not to rain on your parade, but I seriously doubt the "people" will hold this country together when this country and the world's economic system collapses. While I support OWS' opposition to corporate and political corruption, I don't see anything here that's going to save the day. There will be massive suffering at all economic levels. It's pretty damn depressing actually...
It does look bad, no doubt about that. $600 trillion derivatives bomb held by 4 US banks, collapsing European economy, near complete corporate control of politics.
Who is it going to be up to when it all collapses? All of us, together. Since it is up to all of us, the sooner and more powerfully we act, the better our chance of limiting the damage.
How's that for reasoned optimism?
I wish I were optimistic, but I'm not. Few realize the real pain everyone is going to go through. Serious disruptions if not total collapse of food supplies, vital services, energy, medicine, etc.
The political system is broken and Washington needs a major house cleaning - no doubt. As far as banks, I would like to see thousands of very small banks instead of a handful of banks with rediculous amounts of money. We need to get there, but again, the transition is going to be much more painful than most realize.
When the Chinese stop giving us any more loans, that's when the shit hits the fan. Without a realistic plan from this pathetic Congress on how we plan to dig ourselves out of the hole we're in, that day will be here very soon. Way sooner than 20 years!

When that happens the first thing the US will do is enact a coin seigniorage program. Then we will hit hyperinflation just like what happened in Germany and of course brought the downfall of Kaiser Germany and the rise of Nazi Germany.

Then the oceans will rise, the mountains will fall and the final days will... Can you see into the future? I certainly can't. Nearly everyone lacks this ability. a 70 yo guy in North Dakota told me that the so called leaders of this country were going to kill 90% of the population here in about 15 years. he said they don't need us anymore and we are a threat to them.

he seemed salt of earth kind of guy, worked on farm, had wife and also was aware of the 911 lies. yeah, who knows, but i had some feeling like he understood many things. some can have message from ways we don't understand
