One cannot claim to be the 99% and exclude the trolls. I think...no censorship is the best. It will prove if people are determined to stay and argue the issues instead of having this site hijacked.
Well currently the site seems to have to many rules to function properly to what OWS is demanding. They should be giving freedom of speech to everyone. But who knows this probably is a government website.
I disagree. OW has to be for its principles. OW is not forbidding you or anyone else to set up your own website or participate in one that shares your beliefs.

I guess it depends onhow you define "the movement". I'd keep out racist comments, harassment of individual posters and commenters, sexist propaganda, fascist propaganda, propaganda that defends the richest 1%'s interests in robbing the rest of us and setting us out to wars on their behalf.

Is there any transparency on these OWS sites in terms of who has set them up ? There are some very good educational posts but also a lot of garbage without any organization or progress.
I am skeptical about these sites as I feel that government agencies could be gathering information. Probably a little paranoid but there are too many inefficiencies with this site to think it is legit anymore.
You're not being paranoid at all. Government agencies are gathering information from the OWS sites. In fact, when you first sign on to this site there's a disclaimer of sorts that says don't share any information on this site that you wouldn't want the feds to see.
They have an "About" tab on top of the page. For what it's worth the site below was authorized by a General Assembly of the OWS movement.

As far as I know it's the site that was set up through a vote of a General Assembly. If one googles for "Occupy Wall Street" this one comes on top, because the people who own this website own the words "Occupy Wall Street."
yeah, I know adbusters owns this one, but they started occupy wall street and the north american movement. I think the NYGA is just the occupy camp in NY.

What exactly did you say that got you sent that message? I've posted a number of different opinions on a number of different issues, including serious questions about the legitimacy of the current Likud government in Israel and a number of rather caustic complaints against anarchists and communists in general (who appear to have been a part of the founding group on the website) and I have yet to be reprimanded, banned, or censored. What exactly have you been saying that got you those notifications?

There are several in here now. What happens is they come from another chat room where the attack is planned from. They get all their ducks in a row off-site and then move in a concerted action. I have seen it before and it can be quite effective. Some posters probably left already. It's a shock if don't understand what happened. They act as the Admin here and hit hard and fast. The only way to stop it is a quick moderator that takes them out. But, as you and I both know, they really aren't handling troll situation very well here.
This is the result. It can get worse than even this. Batten down the hatches!!!

I have never seen a forum under so much attack like this one. The moderators should try to do something about it now since it is probably going to get much worst.
Maybe they should put a banner at the top that says, "Warning, due to the sensitive nature of this forum's subject matter, your freedom to speak in support of OWS will be met with resistance from those that do not want you to know the truth and will do anything possible to intimidate you or give you the wrong impression of OWS."
Good idea. It really is why there needs to be structure here that encourages good clean debate, not this trash we've been getting. These troll types are not worth the time to any of us, they just drain good vibrant energy from us which is just a general waste. It's really a shame to see it.
I'm hoping that will see error in their open ways. We should demand respect. Condoning bad behavior here encourages real bad behavior out in the real world. Most know how cruel that world is. Well, they been given a free pass in here. Maybe the peak time of fun is over. We can hope!

Posing as an admin and PMing people would be a very sneaky and effective tactic, easily missed by the more naive (web-wise) among us.
