"The ideological division that now runs under the Republican party is making itself known with tremors around climate change, and specifically the issue of household solar installation. On one side, energy self-sufficiency, whether for a family or for the nation, is a libertarian’s dream: no more monthly dependence on a non-competitive utility company, no more dependence on foreign oil, with its attendant national security threats.

On the other side, in the spirit of protecting venerable utility and fossil fuel corporations against the threat of green tech, ALEC is drafting model legislation and mobilizing members to attack renewable energy policies, which include renewable portfolio standards (RPS) and more recently, net-metering."

100+ years of electricity and they still hang the wires on toothpicks under the trees.

It's vulnerable to everything.

That was an exceptional storm though. They fall down every time the wind blows around here.

Well of course. They want the public to fix the grid. You didn't think a libe(R)topian would take such a thing out of their profits?

I mean they've only made a few trillion over the years.

sheesh

You can ask them, but I doubt they'll answer. They never really do.

Better get started then, there's still a bunch of them running around this place. DK has pretty much given up on them and GF has given up.

just watch as they ignore, or minimize, the actions of the Koch's and other libe(R)tarians.

You didn't think they would stop politicizing everything they could did you?

Did you like how they all of a sudden they started posting stuff on global warming that we were talking about months ago.

They ignored it then, now they pay lip service. I wonder who they'll place the blame on?

You can be damned sure it won't be the Kochs, or ALEC for that matter.

Answer IS! Coal is NOT clean. It is a terrorist. Oil is destroying the entire globe. IT is a terrorist. The people that promote it are terrorists. Terrorizing terrorists creating terrible terror are winning. It's just impossible to know who or what the terror that's terrorizing and terrible. Did you just have a dirty thought? You terrorist!

The question is Libber, Pug, or Dino. Do you really think that there is the will within the political realm to stop big oil? We have 2 pipelines being built right now that will rip through the heart of this country. They will completely destroy the natural environment all around them and ad to a climate change that is already quite evident and dramatic. All that from the a technology that quite outdated. When you want to stop something, you have to go to the source. History has been completely on their side. That means votes don't work, therefore, they don't matter.

I agree. It also didn't look hopeful that pipeline protests in DC were met with force. But not much a lot of force. Protests right outside the corporate buildings would be better. They run this country, not DC. However, you'll be met with more force. What does that say? Forget the puppets, go after the puppet masters. Anyway, who cares we think? I for one detest the Kochs and their meddling. What products do they provide to us and what markets do they support? You need to do a post on that and keep posting it. I'll post it on my website. I hate those bastards so much, I'd pay for alternatives to their shit products.

Thanks for the link. Let's not just bury their products, let's boycott all the bastards and bitches that suck up to them.
