Forum Post: After seeing "INSIDE JOB", please see again "PRETTY WOMAN" (Yes! I AM serious!)

I just applauded in a recent post the recommendation to see "INSIDE JOB" - "required viewing for all thinking Americans", I added.

But after you've seen "Inside Job", I recommend seeing again that old classic "Pretty Woman", with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. Yes, I'm 100% SERIOUS!

I saw it for the 5th or 6th time last week and finally got to see the real point of the movie. Granted, on the surface, it's just another sappy romantic comedy... But if you dig a little deeper, you'll find that Edward, the ruthless businessman, IS THE REAL PROSTITUTE HERE! Vivian is the "obvious" whore, but she merely prostitutes her BODY, while Edward's case is far more serious, as he prostitutes his MIND and his SOUL, losing his God-given integrity in the process. Vivian, by contrast, has somehow kept her childlike joy and is not corrupt like Edward. She is therefore in a position to help him to heal.

The REAL story here is not about the clichéd romance, but rather about the great love of a woman who PULLS HER BELOVED OUT OF "WALL-STREET-TYPE PROSTITUTION" and makes a real man, a decent human being out of him again.

For those of you who have loved "Crime and Punishment", Vivian's impact on Edward is comparable to Sonia's impact on Raskolnikov. Sonia is also a prostitute, but she actually embodies the Sophia, the Wisdom of God, and her love for Raskolnikov takes him out of his head and into his heart, in other words heals him of his insanity.
