A new effort has been started to Occupy The Constitution. This effort launches a new Direct Democracy tool called the National Opinion Collection System ( NOCS ). This tool creates a process to capture ALL the comments of EVERY citizen about major social issues, elections and bills before congress. This effort is described at http://occupywallst.org/forum/occupytheconstitution-introduction

Here is a list of House Representavies on the committee this presently reviewing and resolving the differences between the Senate's S1867 and the House's HR 1540.

URGENT UPDATE: It will be added into an already approved bill--The Military Construction Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012. Here is the info on the bill. They will be working to resolved the differences. The M.C.A.A. passed in the House back in May 2011 with 322 yeas to 96 nays. http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h112-1540 After the House resolved the differences of the two bills then it will go to President Obama to approve. Everyone call your House Reps and write to President Obama--get the word out that you strongly disapprove of this bill. Spread the word and make your voices heard on this. Thanks.

Please call these House Representatives who were just appointed to review and resolve the difference of each bill. Tell them how you feel about section 1031-1032 of the S. 1867 bill.

On Dec 7, 2011: The Speaker appointed conferees - from the Committee on Armed Services for consideration of the House bill and the Senate amendment, and modifications committed to conference: McKeon, Bartlett, Thornberry, Akin, Forbes, Miller (FL), LoBiondo, Turner (OH), Kline, Rogers (AL), Shuster, Conaway, Wittman, Hunter, Rooney, Schilling, Griffin (AR), West, Smith (WA), Reyes, Sanchez, Loretta, McIntyre, Andrews, Davis (CA), Langevin, Larsen (WA), Cooper, Bordallo, Courtney, Loebsack, Tsongas, and Pingree (ME).*

Came across this today on the NDAA bill. I am watching this bill very closely. We all need to stay vigilant.

Take a look at the Patriot's Act..... it does essentially the same and your representatives that fail to honor their oath to obey and protect the Constitution are mostly all for that too.

The problem is your traitorous representatives that feather their political and personal fortunes from the bribes of the oligarchy of banksters and big corporate monopolies and crap on their constituency.

Don't blame the Constitution when your representatives don't follow it!

Whats that about do you really think the national defense bill i going to affect citizens who are not breaking the law , Does it make sense that if you do not break the law you will not be in violation of the defense act , How do we know some of this is not propaganda to keep us in fear of freedom of expression how do we know they are not bluffing , If they lock everyone up and just get dis of everyone there will be no on left to run the factories and plants for water and electric food companies and so on , so i guess my point is how will they run the country its so big and vast and has many different terrains how can they police the whole nation , this is one of the biggest countries in the world ,

Article 5 convention NOW! Yes, call your reps.

Realize an article 5 convention is the only method by which citizens, through states, make the government constitutional.

Lessig power point on article V http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gpbfY-atMk

Lots of facts here about Article V. http://algoxy.com/poly/article_v_convention.html

I thought all you OWS people loved a big government where the government was smarter than the citizens. You either want to raise taxes for a bigger government or you dont,, which is it?

[-] 1 points by LoTek (53) 12 years ago

Wtf are you babbling about? a) where did your tax deflection come from? there's no mention in the post whatsoever. b) According to 'citizens untied' thus allowing corporations personhood, why aren't they kicking and screaming about it too? Sounds like a ruse.

[-] -1 points by DunkiDonut2 (-108) 12 years ago

Here is my wtf. OWS members are the typical "raise taxes", "increase the debt" people. Raising taxes and the debt gives the GOVERNMENT more power. The statement: "BIGGER GOVERNMENT" is better would be the best example of what you are seeking. Yet, in this post OWS appears to want to stop the government. STOP THE GOVERNMENT? You cant have it both ways. Either a smaller government with less taxes and few new laws or a larger government with more taxes. The post above says, "More taxes, take power away from the government" Which is it,,, wtf?

[-] 1 points by LoTek (53) 12 years ago

To start, you introduced the 'taxes' 'Big Gov't' drivel. I called you on it. So don't deflect. Systemic dysfunction has been the core point of the message from day one. NOT Dec. 3rd. You understand that corruption in government itself is a symptom and not a source, right? Corruption is an affect and an action, not a cause. Hypothetical..... HR 1540 passes, then 'citizens united' get reversed? That leaves a police state. I'm not rolling over that fast. forward thinking. =/

[-] -1 points by DunkiDonut2 (-108) 12 years ago

Once you get your big government,,, no looking back. The government will own your soul.

[-] 1 points by LoTek (53) 12 years ago

And a corporation that's larger than the Government that relegates it is equally as dangerous, if not more. You should watch over your shoulder if you know what's good for you.

[-] -1 points by DunkiDonut2 (-108) 12 years ago

THere are no corporations larger than the government. Who told you that?

[-] 1 points by LoTek (53) 12 years ago

Ha!! Just read a Q report on Bloomberg sometime. Nice try. =)

[-] 0 points by DunkiDonut2 (-108) 12 years ago

Nice try? Government prevents tobacco companies from advertising on TV. WHAT? Government prevents BIG oil companies from drilling where they want to. WHAT? Government prevents big insurance companies from selling different prices across state lines. WHAT? Government is preventing the largest plane manufacturer, BOEING, from moving to a non-union state, WHAT?????? Corporations are bigger than government,,,,,, ARE YOU NUTS????? Nice TRY but you are more of an idiot that you think you are.

[-] 1 points by LoTek (53) 12 years ago

Wow. Your employer pays you by the keystroke don't they? Boeing was a nice touch, seeing that Lockheed-Martin does not have a viable commercial market.
