I wonder if people had their mortgage documents reviewed by a lawyer or financial expert prior to signing? If they did, the lawyers are responsible too. If they didn't...

If the signers were not responsible why are we mad at the banks? Buyer beware!!!

the banks were crooked. its the banks fault. your trying to make it the peoples fault, thats blaming the victims. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victim_blaming

I am not blaming the victim. I am telling you that we are surrounded by people making bad financial decisions and we are suffering for it. The purpose of a business is to make money and way you can. They are not our friends.

That IS blaming the victim. making money ANY WAY YOU CAN is EVIL.

There were no victims until they signed a major document without professional legal review. Ask the 1% if they would have done the same.

sorry, but thats in essence saying that being evil and criminal is okay because the victims didn't read or understand the paper work. Sorry no. the paper work should have been simple and understandable in the first place.

Let's make all reading material on first grade level for those who refuse to practice reading or accept that they need someone smarter than them to help them make decisions.

lets simply make it illegal to lie to people in contracts.

[-] 1 points by RealityCheck (10) 12 years ago

It already is. There are loopholes. We have to be informed.
