OCCUPY THE CONGRESS

Occupy Congress is a challenge for each Occupation to get one person to run for a federal position in their state, representative or senate. The idea is that if every occupation does this, we should get at least one per state in Congress, thus breaking up the Duopoly, the GovCorp, the "Special little club". This is very doable, and something that would lead to automatic change.

When the people of a country, a country that was set up to be governed by those very people, when those people fall asleep at the wheel, the corrupted start to steer the ship.

People need to realize that we are not voting for a person, we are voting for a party. Individual hires never overturn long standing company policy. Those who refuse to fit in will be cast out.

If you are voting for a Democrat you are in essence voting for wars, handouts to the über rich, and massive corruption. If you are voting for a Republican you are in essence voting for the same thing.

No new hire can overturn a century of deals, scams and secrets. And none of those deals, scams or secrets will help any of you reading this. The two parties are corrupted 100%. God fearing, good people, if from another planet, would vomit when looking at what the parties advertise and then compare it what …………….THEY ACTUALLY DO!!!………..

There are many ways to get change. The US is currently bombing 6 nations and felt it needed to use bombs and guns for change. I would prefer something a little more peaceful. But a peaceful change takes people working with one another, not afraid to put themselves out there.

Occupy Congress dares those who are involved or interested in politics to take a step back, study the party that they are so blindly loyal to, and ask themselves “Is this as good as it gets?”

Hopefully, you say “I hope not”. And now ask yourself this, “Do I owe it to anyone to take a stand, to be an example of initiative, to be one of the only people willing to walk the walk?”

If you are interested in this, then here are the general plans for what I am thinking.

Occupy Congress means that they are free from:

• Favors to big companies and powerful people • Previous secret promises and deals • Pressure from those in the D and R parties • Pressure to fit into the “special little club” • Basically, all the bullshit that goes into politics in DC these days.

Occupy Congress is all about getting NORMAL, WORKING people into congress. You know, people who are like me and you. NORMAL PEOPLE!! What a novel idea, eh?

Candidates should have a few of the following qualities:

• Strong moral character • A disdain for politicians in general • Work quickly and with energy • Ability to cut through bullshit

Now here is the really messed up part of this plan that usually throws people for a loop-

What your political views are is completely irrelevant. Doesn’t matter.

And here is the thinking:

Until we get honest, normal people in there, it doesn’t matter what their beliefs are. Until we get people in there who won’t be timid and uber-impressed by meeting trolls like McConnell and Reid, it doesn’t matter what their views are. Because they will not be serving you. So what is the point?

Until we get honest, working people back into positions that were designed to be a hedge for us against the greed, it doesn’t matter what their views are. Until we get honest, hardworking people back in DC, nothing else matters. It will always be the same lies, the same scams and the same bullshit. Get some people in there to raise awareness, raise accountability, and raise hell.

Occupy Congress is about getting one person in a federal position from all 50 states. Touring costs will be minimal, and conferences and pressers will be nonstop. We are taking this to a grassroots level, and the message of stopping the duopoly in DC will be one that is sure to resonate with the public.

The public is tired of politicians. The public is desperate for normal people to start leading again. The politicians in DC cannot lead us because they are not us. And they would never want to be us, either.

Let’s try something different, for once.....
