You occupiers might be real happy to see some "Far Right Wingers" Show up one day.

[-] 1 points by BlueRose (1437) 12 years ago

I was happy to see the US Border Guard in Arizona help protect the occupiers from the police. All I know is they support the 2nd amendment, you might consider that right wing, I don't.

[-] 1 points by EngageJustice (8) 12 years ago

When did that happen?

[-] 2 points by BlueRose (1437) 12 years ago

It is a popular video on Youtube, it happened maybe a month or two ago. US Border Guard is a PRIVATE group, I might have confused you. They had AK-47s, facing the police and telling an interviewer their backs were to the protesters because they trusted them, not the police.

[-] 1 points by riethc (1149) 12 years ago

Are you sending your reading the Southern Poverty Law magazines as well?

[-] 1 points by Jflynn64 (337) 12 years ago

You have got to be kidding, this is an opinion piece.

You can't debate policy. I'm starting to think this OWS action has no grounding in fundamentals.

[-] 0 points by Misfit138 (172) 12 years ago

The best part of this opinion is: "Leaderless Resistance is a terrorist strategy. The movement splits itself into two components: an aboveground leadership of propagandists and an underground network of terrorist action cells. Individual cells may be prosecuted, but Leaderless Resistance networks are virtually immune from law enforcement activities."

So, according to your own post, BlueRose, OWS falls into this terrorist category. Way to go highlighting what many have already thought.

[-] 1 points by BlueRose (1437) 12 years ago

I let it slide, no big deal. Was really referring to that Christian leaderless stuff. Legally, It's best to be leaderless, like the article says. Hope you got more out of it than that.

starting to think? flynn? its obvious. occupy is IGNORANT rebels without a clue.

They have no chance of accomplishing anything, the best they can do is give us all a great example of what doesn't work, while we wait for a new and better flashpoint to happen as society and civilization burns. In all probability, this was our last chance to make a change before depopulation, and occupy has squandered that chance occupying ports instead of wikis.

OMG, they put the Declaration pages back up on this site! All is not lost!!!! One Little Victory, a spirit breaking free

Now I can devote my efforts to pointing to the wiki, not calling out the NYCGA. Gawd I hate politics but you gotta do what ya gotta do. Even gawd gets to vote on whether the down-payment for Philadelphia is y/n so please, gawd, for me?

[-] 0 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 12 years ago

they took them down? wtf? okay, but... i need to figure out how to get in, it seems i gave up on that site and forgot my password. really i'm just about to give up, all the way around, period. er. give me some time i guess i will try to get in with a different email. WHY would they take the declaration down? WTF?

[-] 1 points by PandoraK (1678) 12 years ago

Here, try this, new improved site

http://www.the99declaration.org/

[-] 0 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

They took them down 6 weeks ago! Michael Pollok wrote a scathing letter about the oligarchs that run the NYCGA and said "I really have no faith in the NYC chapter of #OWS and have no desire to work with them again" Their was one person responsible for privately removing the working group (that didn't have admin) either a twit on a trip or an ifiltrater. This is why I think the NYCGA is obliged to endorse the NGA , too many uncertainties. It's in the 'about' page on the Declaration site. Anyway now the pages are back up and I'm feeling pretty smug. So you see gotta hang in their bro, though i sure know how you feel.

Now you're not being coy with me pretending to not know how those pages got put back up, are you, gawd? lol

[-] 1 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 12 years ago

seriously, i smell rat everywhere. I have no clue whats going on but frankly i don't understand why you'd fight over there instead of going to the wiki. I think its clear that this whole movement is astroturfed and that we are working when on their websites for dem insiders. They of course delete anything that would compete long term with the dem party.

Seriously, why waste your time with all of that?

I don't get the priorities there.

I'm still waiting for any real participation on a wiki put up to do this for real, and everyones running around on agent smiths assorted sites like chickens with their heads cut off. it makes no sense.

I've learned a little mets lots of people and brushed up on a few skills, but you're right, time to fly. Give me til the 17th to wrap things up and say my Farewells.

See you on the Solstice.

[-] 1 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 12 years ago

by then, i may have quit.

seriously? in my shoes, with nobody there but me, what would you do?

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

What if you had quit yesterday? I wouldn't have been able to share my one little victory and this moment would never have come. So let it be, indulge in some earthly pleasures and rest. The Sun will lead us, our reason to be here.

[-] 1 points by April (3196) 12 years ago

ok, who's on first? Is it back up or down? If it's back up, how and why?

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

I found out late last night and I've been up ever since too. Like the movement itself, a small group of dedicated people like that Margaret Mead quote.

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

UP Sunshine UP

[-] 1 points by April (3196) 12 years ago

How and why? Do you know? What is the significance of this do you think.

[-] 1 points by AFarewellToKings (1486) 12 years ago

How because like the MM quote says. This belongs to everyone who got involved in OWS. From the folks in the tents to those in the streets, to those in the forums and chat rooms, the yayr's, the nayr's, and even the trolls!

Why because the was pressure increasing and something had to give. We were doing our part here in the forum but the NYCGA was taking heat from many sources. Thankfully they did the right thing. In the final analysis, they had way more to lose than gain by not putting the pages back up, but reclaiming some credibility is fine. NYC certainly deserves a special place in OWS. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it ; )

It's a milestone and an important one akin to your toddler not toddling anymore. They're up and running. It's amazing how quickly they go from one to the other. The evictions were akin to the period where they leave the cradle and start cruising but a terrifying time because they stumble and could really hurt themselves, but thankfully they usually don't because the parents are watching them like a hawk. (think west coast port shutdown).

Now they're everywhere. The analogy to raising a child is startling. For the movement it comes at a very good time. Going into the holiday season with nothing much to report would cause a great loss of interest and followed by the dark depths of Winter, the movement could have very well frozen to death. Moreover the 99% now have something to act upon that is very stimulating to peoples psyches and by the time Spring hits, it'll be time to ride! I would like to see this event somehow acknowledged publicly in NYC on December 17th. It could be magic!

"Here we come, out of the cradle, endlessly rocking. ENDLESSLY ROCKING!"

Now The NGA, all roads lead to Philadelphia JULY 4TH 2012

[-] 1 points by gawdoftruth (3698) from Santa Barbara, CA 12 years ago

i am enormously thankful that you did that and that you got the declaration back up, i think that is awesome, you rawk on that count.

There is no left right repub or democrat any longer. Have a real opinion on any matter and you will not typically fall into any of these groups.

"Christian Patriots (or often just Patriots) are a broad movement on the far right which extends from the John Birch Society to the Freemen. On the left, it stops short of the National Rifle Association and on the right, it does not include neo-nazis."

If I HAD to self-identify using this cherry-picked mashup of kookism, I'd be the above.

But then:

"When the movement began in the early 1960s, it was dominated by Identity and a few right-wing Mormons."

I wasn't even alive then, and am far from being Mormon, or whatever the Identity part is.

So I wonder often, why must politics be plotted on a line? 85%+ of my views can't be found anywhere on that page, nor are they found to the left or right of there. They simply don't apply.

Plotting politics on a line is like using training wheels to learn how to drive a car. Not only does it not work out so well, it's totally freaking stupid.

The point of this? Interesting article though it paints with too broad a brush.

[-] 0 points by BlueRose (1437) 12 years ago

To shed light on what nutcases these groups are.

[-] 0 points by utahdebater (-72) 12 years ago

So your saying that the LDS religion is a group of nutcases who are all constitutionalists? You've gotta be kidding me.

[-] 1 points by BlueRose (1437) 12 years ago

Yes, they lost $50 million recently in a gold scam. They are followers. Who wear magical underwear.

[-] 1 points by utahdebater (-72) 12 years ago

Your insane. I'm LDS and I've never been taught to think anything like that and that article completely took scripture out of context, don't diss other people's religions.

[-] 1 points by BlueRose (1437) 12 years ago

Your religious leaders do tell you to hoard for this life and the next, take it as good or bad. That is why Mormons were scammed of $50 million in a gold scam recently. It is called affinity crime, the religious are often victims of scams because they follow without thinking. The religious are often encouraged to drop out of society and hoard gold by their leaders.

[-] -1 points by utahdebater (-72) 12 years ago

They don't say anything of the sort. I wouldn't tell a member of a religion what their religious leaders do or don't say. Would you be interested in learning about my religion?

[-] -1 points by MVSN (768) from Stockton, CA 12 years ago

And the communist/ socialist/anarchist Left is better? How?

[-] 2 points by demcapitalist (977) 12 years ago

Ever notice how they end up in the same far outfield as the Ron Lawl folks?

[-] 1 points by BlueRose (1437) 12 years ago

Exactly. Yet somehow Ron Lawl is branded as something other. His followers need to meet each other in real life, not just the internet. I bet they would all hate each other. They can't even agree on what his policy positions are!

[-] 3 points by demcapitalist (977) 12 years ago

I just find him interesting When I'm watching a room full of the current just awful GOP candidates I wince at pretty much everything that's said ----------then R will answer a question and I'll think "oh I agree with that" but when I look a little deeper I think he would be the biggest disaster of a president ever. I guess I like the he at least has his own ideas he's not afraid to buck the GOP party line. Maybe someone could host a convention and make a documentary, could be interesting.

[-] -1 points by MVSN (768) from Stockton, CA 12 years ago

Some do. But most don't.
