This is a call to action for Americans to return our government to “for the people” not for big buisness.

So there are two predominant issues, one is corporate greed and the banking problems, and two is for the government to start being accountable to the 'we the people' group.

First, realize we will never dismantle big business, because they have more power and money.

Next, is the onus really on the govt. to change how it deals with big business, or is the onus on us, to tell them how we want them to function, what laws we want passed?

If the onus is on us, then we have to provide the govt. with the changes we want for big business.

If the onus is on the govt. then they decide how and what legislation they create for big business.

See the difference? We have to step up to the plate and tell them what we want, not expect them to figure it out. We haven't as yet been in that role, which is why things are the way they are.

The First Amendment exactly provides the legal mechanism for telling them what we want. "...the right to peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." Please read the 99% Declaration your ideas are contained within the 99% Declaration, a roadmap to achieving these goals. Modelled on the Suffolk Resolves of 1774. https://sites.google.com/site/the99percentdeclaration/?tmpl=%2Fsystem%2Fapp%2Ftemplates%2Fprint%2F&showPrintDialog=1

I'm pretty speechless that all of these things have been decided upon already.

4 Term limits - no need for it if the person is doing a good job, they should be allowed to continue. If they are not, the public will vote them out.

5 We have had progressive taxes in the past, it did not work out well. The people in the lower rungs still paid more than they could or should have. That is why the flat tax was put in place.

4 How is national health care going to be subsidized, there is already not enough money to fund medicaid, add 43 more Americans to the system who are currenly not covered. Who will pay for this and how?

7 has things that sound like that NY gubernanatorial candidate Carl Paladino wanted implemented. His ideas sounded good until you looked into them. He wanted to use old prisons as dormitories to use the unemployed who would be put into these civilian work corps jobs. They would even be relocated to these facilities.

8 It is not the responsibility of business to pay off an employees student loan.

10 Non essential military personnel is only part of the problem We have 800 clandestine ops in Pakistan (intelligence spies) on the payroll. We need to stop having our taxpayers subsidize private militia work including assassinations at the behest of other govts. They throw their hands up and say, 'the Americans came and did it, we know nothing about it'. We are in 120 countries with peacekeeping forces, permanent bases in I don't know how many countries, and we have too many Black ops out there.

11 Tenure - no they deserve that the same as union workers do. They are union workers. The United Federation of Teachers.

13 The other countries are not manipulating our currency, our money is worth less and they will not PEG their products to our dollar we tried that with Saudi oil.

15 Requires Real estate reform and caps on loan interest rates, not lending people 120 per cent of the homes appraised value so that they get closing cost money as a downpayment. Stop inflating the value of the properties. Model real estate finance after Islamic financing principles instead having it be based on a system of usury.

16 Ending the Federal Reserve Bank. JFK wanted to do that, you see how well received his idea was. His demise was exactly two weeks before he was going to announce to America he wanted to end the fed.

18 Why has it taken people ten years to complain about it? Make summary executions a prosecutable offense and start with the 700 people who were murdered in the desert in Dasht-e-Lal, deliberately, premeditatedly, put in containers to suffocate, holes were shot in the containers which killed some of them, and they were left out in 120 degree heat to die. Their crime? Being Afghans.

19 Repealing the defense of marriage act - that gets into stepping on people's toes in regards to their religious beliefs and what their religion tells them in regards to how marriages are defined. If freedom of religion exists, then they have a right to believe a marriage is however they think it should be.

Anyways, thanks for the heads up on the Declaration. Let us also stop our Congress people from ceding lands that do not belong to them.

Sorry for the bolding, trying to take that off.

Please note that the Declaration clearly states that this is "a SUGGESTED list of grievances to be respectfully submitted to the National General Assembly..." and that the final version "may or may not include the following issues..."

Thanks.

And thank you for highlighting that the list of grievances is a document that is prepared as part of the evolution, not an all-encompassing be-all-end-all. We the people will work hard to make it vital, and if it is ignored, we will work hard to vote them out. We are the 99%
