In thinking about commitment #2 and #3 of the American Liberty True Democracy Party, I've just realized that a new political party is not needed to reform the system. All that's needed is for voters to be in solidarity in only voting for candidates of any party who agree to those two commitments. Whereas commitment #2 puts a candidate under legal contract to uphold the party objectives, commitment #3 makes the elected candidate dependent upon the vote of the party in the district being represented. To vote on the issues, everyone would have to join the party of the elected representative but the identity of that party would become meaningless under the circumstances. There would be the exercise of direct democracy for that district regardless of a Republican, Democrat, Green Party, or any other party lable. Lobbyists would no longer be in a position to influence the representative. All that would be required is for voters to commit to not voting for any candidates who refuse to be under contract.
