Forum Post: A step away from my normal crap, because I’m pissed at Obama today.

This morning I was thinking about possibly trying to get out to a different city for a spring action and maybe meeting up with one of guys rl. Thinking that out I thought what would be the most important thing for me to say, face to face, then I thought I would say it here.

I was thinking I would want to know for sure if there were an overnight occupation active, seeing how I would not want to be overnight alone in the park. The reason being that if there are a few people around it is almost always safe. People are mostly good. Now if it’s just one person and those that mean harm, that’s another story, and there really is no happy end, if you’ve been there you know, but with folks around it need not be so bad.

In spite of all our lying eyes tell us, people really are mostly good. So why are things so bad? I believe it is because we have allowed a sys tem to be created where evil does better than good. I could say more, but I don’t think I need to.

The problem is that there are huge invisible monsters running amok who are concerned with only one thing, which is generally the last line on their income statement...

Occasionally, they become concerned the the "income taxes" line too, but only because it reduces the value of the last one.

Pure greed should really not be the basis of an economic system...

thanks for stopping by

Sounds about right, to me and some of "them" are frankensteins put together with the worst parts of those that contribute to the whole, keeping back what little humanity they possess for friends and family, so they can have a shot at some.

If you get accosted in the park, at least it will be by 99%'s and not evil 1%'s.

good point, and worth the risk

It's a sad reflection on the desperation out there, that we need to consider our own safety when alone at night, even close to the city centres.

I sleep in the tray of my pickup truck, side of the hiway, and never have any issues. But I do carry a sharp machete for face value only.

confidence can diffuse

I wanted to speak to something most people understand and maybe have felt themselves, to hammer the point that mostly we are good, we just let the bad guys have power/money because they seem to be willing to do more for it, or they want it more. Once you start writing the rules for you and your friends, instead of the people who sent you “there”, then it either just goes downhill or people have to wake up and enforce their own good.

Stay safe out there.

There's a lot to be said for the fear factor being fabricated in both the press and hollywood. It's not like that in the real world. I've travelled extensively across Australia, and always felt safest out in the middle of nowhere.

I'm still willing to camp in the city areas, but it's not my kinda place anyways.

You're right about the "bad guys have power" trip. It's what the media would have you believe.

Take back the night, people. Camp out wherever you can whenever you can. It's in the interests of the one percent to have us all sardined indoors trembling in fabricated fear.

Well you make a lot of sense, I may have missed my own point, I did fail to mention that if you did meet anyone most likely they would be cool, really wanting to point out how safe people feel even in a group of strangers, because we know most people are good, it's just a few bad apples at the top that keep messing things up, I'd rather bet on finding good people in the park at midnight, than midday in a boardroom.

Hey thanks for the link, I got to look into my "low impact" travel agent letting the road pick the place so to speak, but almost every city has a calendar, why vacation anywhere else? This summer see the real America!
