Forum Post: A method to the madness.

Although I am very excited by the active participation of those involved in the Occupy movements, I am concerned about our ability to come together and agree on some reachable goals. We need to find a method for puling our eyes together and reaching agreement. I believe I have just such a method. I am founding a lobbying organization to represent the interests of the majority. We will be polling our membership to determine where we stand on the issues. We are not starting with any platform. All of our ideas will arise from the interests of the majority. Any issue that receives 65% support we will take up and bring to our elected leaders. This will enable us to find where we have true commonality and find core themes that we can agree on. It will take that which is vague and turn it into concrete actionable data. If you are interested please visit us at www.lobbydemocracy.com. If you like what you see, or have suggestions please post them here so that we can rise to the top of the list and others can hear about us as well.

I am talking about getting everything organized and gradually moving forward. This is a process, not a race. My argument is for a process that will lead us in the direction of results.

Dude. All this demand stuff is great. But let's not rush. Let's take our time. There's a great Peter Gabriel line: "You could have a steam train....if you just laid down your tracks." Let's get our groove on a little before we start making demands. They'll be better.

Although lobbying has grown to have a very negative connotation, it does not inherently need to. We have become accustomed to the only lobbyists being the ones that represent big business and special interests. What if lobbyists supported common interests. What if we could make the most powerful lobbying organization be the one that represented the most people. I think this is possible, and it is what we are trying to achieve. Shutting down the lobbying industry is unconstitutional. Taking it over so that it will represent the interest of the people is not only constitutional, it is right and just.

Politicians need better rules to follow to prevent lobbying! We tax payers should also fund important elections, so the best person wins and not the one with the most money!!! The movement needs at least these 2 demands!!! Politicians need to be fair and keep it BALANCED for all and not start class warfare! Unlikely but they all need fired so we can start over, but next time they work for everyone and not favor one group over another. Write it down and pass the word!!!

This is what I want first then I want the Politicians to fix it! Plane and simple!
