Dear Senator McCain,

This will be one of several letters I have written to you sir, you have been my senator for as long as you have been a Senator. I remember asking you to vote against the Bush tax cut of 2001, and another thanking you for your vote.

I hope to write another thanking you for your vote in support of reasonable background checks.

Senator let us not turn our backs on these parents for the sake of those who should not be armed.

Please sir vote in support of this measure.

Doesn't it suck that nobody buys the "i am the 99%" nonsense anymore when you're calling to have citizens disarmed?

"let us not turn our backs on these parents" LOL

democide; death by government has killed 290+ million people.

The guns used in Newtown werent purchased by that kid. They were stolen. A background check wouldnt have made any difference here. Parenting, and maybe a society that isnt violent as hell would have helped stop it.

Any word on his brother hiding in the woods at the scene? No? I didnt think so.

A brother and a father working at global accounting firms, and a dead mother.

Background checks wont do anything to stop this kind of stuff. But I understand people feel like they have to do something. So realizing that background checks wouldnt have stopped it, and making all guns dissapear isnt a reality, then what are we left with?

So you're against background checks because the Newtown killer stole the guns from his irresponsible gun owner mother?

Wouldn't the logical conclusion be to better control familiar gun access?

Real background checks WILL reduce gun trafficking, & therefore gun death.

In regards to Newtown type familial/friend gun transfer to mentally ill other measures are required.

Seems to me we MUST create a 10 yr jail term if guns are lent, given, sold, to a known mentally questionable person, or kept wrecklessly, or irresponsibly.

Isn't that reasonable gun safety measures?
