It's a good read especially if you've come to this site to understand what OWS is about.

and where is the role of the people? the 99% you portray as the innocent lamb to slaughter? when i tried to buy my first house i needed to put 20% down and it took 10 years to get there...and the broker told me i could afford a house more than twice what i was purchasing...you know what...i never listened to him because i did my own calculations...because it is my signature on the document..not his...

where does personal accountability start in your movement?

There needs to be room for second chances. You know "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me." We don't live in a world where mistakes can be learned from, and it shouldn't be like that.

We live in a world were it's stupid to take out a student loan to go to school, and it's also stupid NOT to go to college. People are being forced to take out loan after loan after loan just to get somewhere they would have gotten without a loan 50 years ago. Prices are going up and peoples' wages are staying the same. There is something wrong.

It is necessary! But more important for the person who tried to get you to sign for a house that was too much. He needs some seriously personal accountability. We all need to step up and accept the portion of the economic burdens that are our fault. I accept responsibility for the loans I have take out, but I sure as heck don't accept responsibility for the big-banks which made risky business ventures and lost their money. I think accountability is the most important aspect of this movement. Its time we all take a look at what we do, how we spend our money, what we think of as important, and question whether or not those actions are causing the world to be a worse place for other people.
