Forum Post: A divisive wedge issue

An article posted to yahoo news reports on the growing wealth gap between aged and young people. They do make the distinction that most of the wealth gap is due to the value of homes that are paid off for those 65 and up, versus that young people have been buying homes that were overpriced and still mortgaged, but that information comes at the end of article, and the introductory paragraph does not hint at at the cause.

Thus, it seems the writer is as much interested in creating an issue that would generate rancor in the young as in telling a story about how the economy is creating a new reality for the young that is vastly different than it was for our parents and grandparents. Its all about the spin, so dont let them create a chasm where none exists...
