For some unexplained reasons...people who are anti-OWS have the delusion that they are the 1%. These are wannabe 1% and I just cannot understand why they would want to pose as 1%?

I guess there is some denial that we are poor, powerless, and at the mercy of greedy and corrupt politicians and businessmen. There are those who are comfortable...indeed, they have houses, successful job/careers, luxury cars, they fly first class...etc. They work just like the rest of us. But they should never grow apathetic to what is going on around them. There is clearly something wrong here...and while you may not be directly affected by it either way, you should not be under the illusion that you are somehow insulated from the greed and corruption that is all around you (unless you yourself are greedy and corrupt..then you should definitely not feel comfortable). To those who think they are part of the 1%...just ask yourself one question...do you have the personal telephone numbers of Henry Paulson, Rick Rubin, Tim Geithner, etc. Yeah...these are the people who represent the interests of the 1%. If you do not have daily contact with them...you are not a 1%.

I actually dislike the % thing. I know why it's being used but it has some major problems in my humble opinion.

I personally think of myself as truly free, I love life and what I have done in it. I of course strongly disagree w/ the bailouts and corporations like GE paying zero taxes while they profit billions and take billions in tax payers money, but when it comes to individuals and freedom, well I am the richest person on the planet

Good for you! You seem to have a balanced approach. I do not feel that the 1% are totally to blame for all the woes of the world...it has something to do with our own apathy...and for us not doing something about it. I really thought Obama was going change things...but it seems we are left to force the issue.

Those three you mentioned (especially Paulson) are not only the 1 percent. They are also the top 1 percent of one percent (or damn close). But those three alone don't own over 40 percent of all United States wealth. The top one percent do.

I said that they represent the interests of the 1%. I did not mention that they own anything...I just want to be clear.
