Tonight at the NYC OWS General Assembly, the Working Group developing a Petition and List of Grievances for the 99% of Americans announced its first live meeting at OWS NYC at 8:30 p.m. During the General Assembly, one of the members of the Working Group described its basic function to assist in the election of 870 delegates to National General Assembly to convene in Philadelphia on July 4, 2012. The General Assembly reacted with the "feel good" hand symbol to the idea of the working group. About 500 copies of the four page Declaration, Petition and action plan were distributed at OWS in NYC.

Following the General Assembly, the working group met and agreed upon the following course of action:

  1. Call for volunteers from all over the country to join the 99% Declaration Working Group.

  2. Once new working group volunteers have joined, schedule a series of meetings online and in person to continue work on the proposed declaration and petition of grieves but primarily begin to organize the election of delegates to the National General Assembly between now and July 4th.

  3. Provide regular report-backs to the general assemblies not only in NYC but also in all of the General Assemblies currently meeting.

  4. Seek out volunteers in each of the 435 congressional districts to participate in a uniform and organized direct voting process to elect the 870 delegates to the National General Assembly.

  5. Raise sufficient funds to pay for the election of delegates and secure a venue space in Philadelphia appropriate to allow the delegates to deliberate on a final Petition for the Redress of Grievances.

  6. Upon adoption of the final Petition for the Redress of Grievances by the National General Assembly, copies of this document will be delivered to all 535 members of Congress, the President of the United States, the United States Supreme Court and all candidates running for office in the 2012 federal election.

  7. Should the newly elected government in 2012 fail to immediately act upon the final Petition for the Redress of Grievances by the National General Assembly, all 870 delegates will reconvene and with the help of the 99%, begin a massive grassroots campaign to raise sufficient money to elect non-partisan independent candidates to completely replace each and every member of the House of Representatives and all members of the Senate up for re-lection in the 2014 mid-term election.

This is really the beginning of the END of corporatism in America. Please NEVER forget what Benito Mussolini said about corporate control of government, "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power."

Sounds like you just represent making a disgrace out of yourself first.

If you are legitimate (which most of us doubt) You will have a hard time finding allies when you try to make a mockery out of such a serious movement
