Forum Post: 1% are terrorists!

Posted 12 years ago on Dec. 26, 2011, 7:26 p.m. EST by rbe (687)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

The 1% are calling you guys terrorists in private conversations so why not turn the tables on them and start calling them terrorists? They don't want to pay taxes that lead to increases in the quality of life of citizens, they start wars over resources, they suppress new technology which is potentially life saving and environment saving, they control the media, they speculate in commodities which causes increases in the price of food, and they own the politicians.

So, who are the real terrorists?? They created this word in general to benefit their agendas, so throw it right back at them. If this word becomes a part of the dialogue, it would be a game changer.

Do you have any specifics on who called the OWS protesters terrorists? Was it Bill Gates? Warren Buffett? Larry Ellison? George Sorros?

Do you have specifics on when they made these statements? Perhaps a link?

In the year 2012 (almost), there isn't any reason why anyone on this planet, let alone America, should be without a good shelter, good quality food, and excellent healthcare. We have the technology to make all of this happen. Not within the parameters of a monetary system but as a right, just like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Any system/philosophy that hinders this from happening is terrorism. Therefore, the people that are keeping this system in place for their own narcissistic gratification are terrorists.

I think there is violence and harm. People die over lack of healthcare in America, and people kill and commit other crimes in order to get money to pay their rent/mortgage and buy food. It's our system that spawns this behavior.

rbe I agree, there are enough resources to feed, clothe and shelter all 7 billion on the planet, it would be a lot of work but it would be better than war

Have you heard of vertical farming? It may be the answer to our food production.

very interesting, there is a lot that can be done. Get off fosil fuels replace with renewable solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal sources of energy.

Yes, I agree. We know where we need to go, we just need to scrap our current system in order to move ourselves in that direction.

I strongly disagree with that.

Well, I can point out MORE people that die WITH healthcare. Where do you think that more people die - out in the alley??? So do you want to get rid of healthcare because so many people are dying with it? Just another indication of a failed system - right. I am ready to get rid of all healthcare and then everyone would be protected from this evil.

I would die before I would kill to pay my mortgage. We all die. Get over it.

Well, you can have good shelter, good quality food and excellent healthcare if you work for it.

I have all three and have had all three for the last 30 years. Why can't you do the same - what's holding you back?

[-] 1 points by rbe (687) 12 years ago

I have all three too. Still, I don't think people should have to work to get those. They should be rights.
