OWS Updates for the Week of June 13
Posted 12 years ago on June 13, 2012, 4:55 p.m. EST by OccupyWallSt
Last week was a somber one, as the 99% in Wisconsin failed in a people-powered effort to recall a governor who has shamelessly declared class war on working families.
There is certainly cause to question whether the occupation-inspired popular uprising was sold out by electoral politics. But first let us take heed of the tangible damage being done to the day to day lives of so many Wisconsinites, if only considering that the billionaire-backed subversion of democracy taking place is being explicitly cited as a model that will soon be followed across the country.
Likewise, sending any form of solidarity to our Cheesehead-clad brethren would undoubtedly be appreciated, even through an action as simple as tweeting to #SolidarityWI.
And let us recognize that the fight is absolutely not over in Wisconsin, whose state motto -- Forward -- couldn’t ring any truer.

This Week’s Featured Occu-Project
Stop & Frisk Watch app This new app is an easy way to hold the NYPD accountable for its actions by allowing bystanders to fully document stop-and-frisk encounters and alert community members when a street stop is in progress.
The Stop & Frisk Watch app was developed by the NYCLU with the team behind the Occupy Wall Street app “I’m Getting Arrested”. It is available in English and Spanish on Android phones, with an iPhone version coming later this summer.
Watch this intro video to learn more about how it works, and help stop stop and frisk by taking advantage of this powerful new tool!
Connect. Collaborate. Contribute.

what is the occupy catholics post doing here?! putting an image of a man nailed to a cross into children's minds is CHILD ABUSE. telling children their mothers and fathers are sinners is GROOMING. telling children "jesus is the only way" is BULLYING into submission to the pastor. telling children "jesus died for your sins" is MENTAL ABUSE. we must not tolerate this GARBAGE. we must protect our community from these predatory crucifixion merchant money sharks. we all know of the long term and widespread child abuse by catholic priests covered up by their bishops and this pope. by their fruits we shall know them. we know their game.
This is what Democracy looks like. Guess it goes both ways.
Sorry,I`ve written the date Australian style, day, month and year.Anyway the Fed Reserve lease ends on the Mayan end of the world prediction.
They have a lease on it?
Our Australian Reserve bank was also privatised a while ago.
I find it quite disturbing that nobody says anything about the RBA increasing interest rates to "cool down" an overheated economy, which equates to us plebs having too much spare cash to spend on "luxury" items.
Just goes to show how most people really are too busy paying for everything to pay attention to the world around them.
How come there`s no talk of the American Federal Reserve lease expiring on 21/12/2012?.Surely this is the heart of Kleptocracy requiring that government never again privatise this Institution.
Well now that lends more weight to end the Fed.
Yes another major issue to address. What to do when the lease ends - and start the campaigning now.
Would you mind starting a post on this. I am a bit under the weather and not really thimkin to clearly at the moment.
1st that I have heard of it.
Here`s a link DK.http://projectavalon.net/forum4/showthread.php?46193-The-US-FED-Reserve-s-99-Year-Lease-On-America-Ends-EXACTLY-on-12-21-2012----
Can you provide links to any factual documents that support your claim that the Fed's lease is expiring this year. Hearsay on some website proves nothing.
No hearsay jr,Type in When Does America
s Federal Reserve Lease Expire?on Google and choose which you want.President Woodrow Wilson
s death bed comment will interest you.Already googled it. Nothing found. Show evidence.
No I can`t find anything either as you asked for.I may have been conned.
I've been fooled as well. There is a flotilla of garbage passing for truth on the Internet. It just takes one slimy story to be copied and pasted enough times to become truth to many. If it smells the slightest bit fishy, check for authenticity. A lot are also spread by email from friends and relatives that don't check their sources.
Thank you. Could make a lot of sense why so much shit is going on right now.
