FTHEBANKS HITS OBAMA WHERE IT HURTS
BRING A DOLLAR TO DANGLE, AND A POT TO BANG
On June 4th, members of F The Banks will be escalating our campaign to highlight the failure of the government to investigate the financial crisis.
Recently, we took our campaign to Attorney General Schneiderman’s office, to try and take charge of his underfunded, understaffed, and underachieving “Task Force”. Now, we’re going straight to his boss, Obama. And we’re going to hit him where it hurts: his campaign funds.
It’s predicted that the Obama campaign and related PACs will spend over a billion dollars trying to get him re-elected. For just a few cents out of every campaign dollar, they could fully fund the task force that he touted in his State of the Union speech.
Instead, Congress is refusing to fund it, and the task force is floundering.
While Obama is fundraising for his campaign, we’ll be holding a fundraiser for what really matters: bringing the banks to justice.
We’ll bring one dollar each, and wave it in their faces to underscore the ridiculous disparity between campaign spending and the amount of money needed to bring justice to the bankers who caused this crisis. We will bang our pots and pans to bring noisy attention to their quiet investigation.
BILLIONS FOR A CAMPAIGN, NOTHING FOR JUSTICE?
FIGHT BACK. HIT THEM WHERE IT HURTS
BRING A DOLLAR AND A POT OR PAN
There are trillions of dollars sitting around idly not being invested or spent because the TRUST was gone. Even the people with money to BURN are reluctant to take risks to jump-start the job market because they know that the OTHER jackboot has NOT dropped down yet. The only fast way to restore trust is to restore justice and clean out the cesspool however stinky it still is. Deferring the imposition of justice will eventually backfire on the people up for RE-ELECTION.
I like where this is going in two ways.
(1) the silly idea to fund via crowd sourcing this task force. this should shame the administration and highlight the misuse of resources on electioneering instead of governance.
(2) Occupy showing us the way to unleash our own agency rather than relying on a corrupted system to do our work. We will have to do our own work, and build a new system out of the wreckage that the 1% has made of our gov't.
I don't think "kickstartering" gov't task forces is good public policy. But its a good start when you have no other options.
For change to truly occur in America, all politicians controlled by Wall Street must be voted out. Those who seek a better humanity must run for office.Apathy is no longer an option as the police state is now a fait accompli with the Patriot Act.All eyes are turning to America to see if it can unshackle itself from Mordor.I just watched the doco"Owned&Operated".Solidarity.
You know. I thought a lot of OWS. I went and I donated, but hearing today that those who started this from the begining have left us out to dry. I'm sorry disappointed in them. I'm 54 years old and want change for the middle class and poor. We have to stop the 1% before they stop us andbefore we have know voice anymore. We have to get back like we were and get citizen united out. We need to unit as one. The right and the left together. We can do this if the people want it badly enough. We have to be bigger then the teabaggers. Come on lets do this.
