OccupyWallStreet has given me hope and faith in Americans again.
I understand a leaderless protest, however I'm tired of the media saying the
movement has no focus and no clear demands. We will not be taken seriously
without clear easy to understand goals.
It is obvious to me that the
1st demand is Accountability
Prosecution for those whose greed
has put millions of people out of work,
out of their homes and almost caused
a Global Economic collapse we are
still on the edge of, with the exception
of 3 or 4 countries (China, India, Brazil,
Singapore).
Until this injustice is corrected we, not
just America but Europe and the rest
of the affected world cannot move on.
This is why we are so angry.
2) Clean up our Political System!
Allow our Elected Officials to represent
their Constituents (the 99%) and Not the corporations(1%) that are controlling them and our country.
This can easily be accomplished by
A) Ending the Lobbyists, and
B) the fundraising that our elected officials have to do. They have better more important things to do with their time.
Charge each person $5 yearly on our income tax forms and that money is to be applied for all the political campaigns.
Allot a certain amount for each political
office based on position and population.
3) Redo the Tax Code. It should be all
of 1 page. 3 rates for 3 tax brackets based on income.
Sales taxes should go to State and City
governments.
4) Health Care -
We have to Control the Costs, so All People can have access.
Have professional committees, set up
fee schedules for all procedures and services. What's causing this mess, is no one knows what anything costs, hospitals,labs, drug companies and specialists are getting away with murder because of no set fees.
Insurance companies should be allowed
a 15 to 20% administrative fee only!!!
They never provide any of the actual
services, and the control of our Health
Needs to be in the Hands of Doctors NOT
the Insurance Companies.
Yes, there are a lot more issues,
Poverty, We must take care of our people
Ending Hunger- this is so very possible
their is so much waste, we know this is
doable.
The Environment- Care for our Earth
set new guidelines to control pollution
and waste.
Our Private (for profit) unjust, unfair Jail Systems. Police Brutality- they need to be reminded they are public servants and work for us.
Please pass on my suggestions to those handling Press Relations.
Without clear set demands, no one will
take the movement seriously. Its time!
Lets not waste this opportunity.
