There is something amazing happening in the world. There is a shift, a change in the air. I didn't have health insurance as I was interning for a major organization. I got really sick. I was in the emergency room for over a week. I have incredible debt because of it. This, coupled with my student loan debt, coupled with trying to live in NYC has almost broken more than just my wallet. Yesterday, a homeless woman said that they said NYC, America even, was supposed to be the place of dreams. I asked if they lied. She said, "Hard to tell. You see what you see and you get what you get". There is something broken in this country, in most countries really. If I can do nothing else, I will at least scream about it. We can make this something like the place this woman was promised.
