Boomer. Worked til I married at 32. Divorced at 42; a single, working mom of three sons. Entered my 50s during the job recovery of the 1st Bush recession. Went back to college at 51 to offset age discrimination. Graduated '07 just before the 2nd Bush recession. Entered grad school. The economy tanked. Bladder cancer at 57. Surgery at 58. Didn't finish the MA. After all that work and playing by the rules, and sacrifice, my kids don't even have the opportunities I did at their ages. And that's unacceptable.
