Any group of people who wishes to survive together (for any reason) must have a sustainable, nourishing, balanced and pleasing food source. Food connects us all on the most natural, pleasurable level, where we are brought to the same table.

"The sacred rights of mankind are not to be rummaged for, among old parchments, or musty records. They are written, as with a sun beam in the whole volume of human nature, by the hand of the divinity itself; and can never be erased or obscured by mortal power."
Alexander Hamilton, 1775

99% of us are, by some systematic convention or one of the other brands, denied equal access to our sacred human rights.

In 2007 36.2 million Americans lived in food insecure households. What might that number possibly be today.

If these occupations are to last SUSTAINABLE food systems must be developed. Thought out, planned, practiced, implemented, critiqued and continually revised when necessary. With the rise of sensitive food intolerances and deadly food allergies it is important to make sure that we are all welcome to join these tables. This will draw/invite discussion/participation.

Occupy Twin Ports in Duluth Superior MN/WI, in support of those in NYC, Boston, and hundreds of other spaces, are forming a sustainable soup kitchen to keep and bring people and ideas to the table.
