We are the 99 percent

Here are great ideas to add to the list: Increase the minimum wage and create a MAXIMUM wage of 1 mil/yr. Really no one needs more than that.(Not sure how we could ever enforce with today's tax laws, but still throwing it out there.) No more golden parachutes. Tie congress's income to matters that give them the correct incentive -- low unemployment, economic stability = more income; high unemployment, no stability = less income. (Of course this may not work due to their income not reeeaaallly being what they care about - it's the political contributions.) And with that said, outlaw any corporate political contributions, and individuals can only give up to a certain modest amount - say up to $1000. And corporations are not people -- that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my 48 years. By the way -- I am the 99% -- My husband (age 53) is (was) in software sales for major players for 25 years and made usually 100 to 150K, but one awesome year made almost 500K. I am a computer tech who in the heyday was an independent consultant and I made 75k - 90k. Now he has been unemployed for six months, and I am making 57K. Just wanted to put some real numbers out. We were not living beyond our means -- but we are now beyond our means and digging into retirement savings every month and we both feel like we will never retire but work until the day we die. We live in a moderate house for the Dallas area -- 2600 sq ft or so and needed a decent school district. I'm considering buying land in a cheap remote area in case we need to put a shack on it and grow food. And the most pathetic part of this comment -- we are the lucky few of the 99%. Others would kill to be in our position. And even scarier we live in the Dallas area where we are doing great with jobs and housing. I cannot imagine what is happening in the bad areas.
