I wish I had known about this gathering before the videos hit the internet. I would have done everything in my power to be there. My name is Pam. I am in my early 50's and still remember the protests of the sixties. I worked all my life and paid a great deal of taxes in that time, until being disabled in a car accident 8 years. I now have to depend on Social Security to survive and it hasn't been working real well. I have been raising my own hell about the injustices in this wonderful country, but people just don't seem to care. I am so proud of each and every one of those who is participating in the Occupy Wall Street protest! Shame on the media for not covering this important event. Shame on the police officers who violated your rights to a peaceful and legal protest and your right to free speech. Shame on those government officials who choose to ignore the demands of a majority. I will be watching for protests in the Chicago area since I am just 30 minutes away from there. Please keep me posted of upcoming events as well as your progress to be heard!
