Leonard C. Tekaat, aka First Occupier, is an economic scholar, author, and retired small businessman with over forty years
experience in home finance, and real estate and housing investment.
He call himself "firstoccupier because he has been working on changing the policies that continue to widen the wealth gap between the 1% and the 99%, since 1981.
He spent six days under a tarp, sleeping on the ground, at Zuccotti Park from 9/30/11 to 10/5/11. It was at the park that he made a promise to himself, that he would create an Occupy Fany.Fredy group.
He knows, because of is experience in real state and education, that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are the key to solving the foreclosure and unemployment crisis.
He is not alone in this effort. The Federal Reserve and Congress are putting pressure on the GSEs to reduce principal balances, and lower the interest rate on mortgages.
He knows that he can not change F&F policies alone. With so many officials asking F&F to change their policies, now is time to join together in support of changing policies at F&F, to tip the scales in favor of the homeowners, instead of the banks, and the financial sector.
