DavidsonI'm retired, former theologian and liberal preacher. How can I get involved in some kind of think tank? Here's a thought for it: We can get an idea of the breadth and depth of the worldwide movements by listing what they are NOT: The energy/spirit comes from a place deeper than gods, nations, economies, or politics. Because of the social media, people the world over are realizing this is one voice coming from all countries. It's a response to the economic fascism created by Friedman's economic theories (as Naomi Klein detailed in her SHOCK DOCTRINE). I see this as a movement with the potential to create another "Axial Age." This time, rather than wondering how we should live -- Golden Rule, Compassion, etc. -- we're struggling to make our leaders, armies, political and economic movers and shakers re-orient our societies, away from the demands of capitalism and corporations, toward human-centered cultures, where the "center" demands no less than free education and health care, etc. The MSM and 1% don't get it because we don't fit into their structures. But as Einstein once said, we can't solve a problem with the same thinking that created it. Private MessagesMust be logged in to send messages. |
