"they met with CPS and were told that the camp was, in their words, an unhealthy living environment."

Thought I would let you protester know this. I'm sure Dallas isn't the only place that will be enforcing this kind of thing. You have been warned. SO when and if your kid/s gets taken away due to unhealthy living environment. It will be your own fault.
These people were already homeless and have been waiting for a house since March of 2011.
If DCS gave a damn they would have found a location for the family to move to considering that they were, according to the cop, already reported in September. Why so long?
They should be asking the same question , Then again there are homeless shelters , far better then Occupy Dallas to be living in with kids.
Most homeless shelters are full and have waiting lists everywhere in the country. Where do you think the people who were foreclosed on went? There are now millions of people without homes. We have refugees in our own country! Yet we NEVER speak of the displaced people only the number of foreclosures.
Not all shelters are full. There are 8 just in the Dallas Area."Yet we NEVER speak of the displaced people only the number of foreclosures." lol Yes we do , they are called tent cities and they were in the news plenty , and still are.

You might want to check and see how full those are. Secondly, keep in mind that the quickest way to become sick is going to a homeless shelter.
There are 8 just in the Dallas Area , and ALL 8 are not full. Why should I check? Like it would do any good. It's not like I can just go 2 hours from where I live , find and tell this couple and their kids. Hey just a way from the Occupy Dallas there is a nice homeless shelter called The Stewpot . Which is a homeless service provider offering meals, medical, dental, and casework assistance for identification, employment, counseling and other opportunities for persons experiencing homelessness. Ohh and we just can't forget the children. They have good programs there for them too. http://www.thestewpot.org/children.asp
The Occupy Dallas should have this info , and should be giving it out to the people there. Or helping your fellow man is now not part of the plan anymore ?
If you want to know the real truth , they are encouraging the homeless to sleep with them. Rather then sending them to shelters. http://occupydallas.org/inviting-homeless-getting-them-tent-and-sleeping-bags-contributions
Nobody asked you to go over there. Considering the fact that there are more homeless people in the past most of the shelters are full----anywhere. And, actually, the cops and the shelters were sending the homeless to Occupy Dallas, per the article that I posted yesterday for someone else.
Because sadly, when we leave it to the government and it's many, many levels of beaurocratic fat to handle, things take much longer than they need to.
Oh, please, it is DCS and knowing Texas there are a 101 little places that receive government funding and, yet are privatized and they have been on a housing list since March?
Sigh. So, I suppose you also live in Dallas and are privy to the waiting lists in both public and private housing for the homeless? And the inner workings of DCS? Or is that remark a statement of disdain for the whole state?
And I'm sure there are plenty of places that receive government funding...just as there are plenty of places in NYC that do as well...but that doesn't mean there aren't still homeless people. My point was that with all the red tape and time wasting in departments like MHMR, DHS, and DCS in general, things that should go quickly end up taking much longer than expected.
Sigh. I understood you the first time around.
It might be best to leave the kids with grandma.
Texas CPS is a joke...look at their track record. Worst in the country
Although I am no supporter of the Occupy Movement, this story is outrageous!
Thousands of children in this country live with single parents who use and deal drugs from their tax supported low income housing. Thousands of children whose State Supported Parents don't ensure those same children are supervised, cared for and have a basic education.
The State taking a child from his/her parents because they live in a tent is utter nonsense.
If OWS truly is all they claim to be use your resources and find these people a decent attorney that will help them retrieve their child instead of moving your camp to separate from those that are homeless.
Sideline your political agenda in pursuit of what's right. Try suporting those that support you and watch how many US Citizens join your cause.
Geez, where are all the attorney's in this movement?
In case you haven't been watching the news lately. Many of the occupy camps people have been arrested for rape , pimping , drug use and sales .A sex offender was arrested for registering. About a week ago I read that Occupy Madison , was denied a permit due to it's history of public masturbation.

Sound like a place for a kid ?
Occupy Dallas don't care about this couple. Read in the story again "The complaint was a child in the encampment that was pretty much screaming and crying all night, and folks were concerned about it,”
My kids are very loose already. Wouldn't want to loose them any more than they already are, so I guess I'll keep them home.
Or, I won't take advice from people who are less intelligent than I am and aren't afraid to show it.
is the some appeal for a healthy environment for the future humans?
Sounds about right - especially after the arrest of the child sex offender who had sex with a 14 year old runaway. Sure, she said she was 19, but c'mon. Dallas PD doesn't play like that - and since they also have no sanitation, no running water, etc...it kind of IS an unhealthy living environment.
And yes, I live there, and yes, I've seen it. It's kind of a dump.
It's amazing how much the concept of healthy living environment has changed over the years.
Humanity has gone from public baths, good roads, safe transportation to no baths, poor roads (collapsing bridges) and mediocre transportation.
Now we've private baths, median roads, expensive transportation.
And we're concerned about a re-shifting of all that?
How about we share information on how to avoid that shift all together?
Thanks for the input. :)
Retards shouldn't be raising chillen.
