While Wall Street is a major problem we face....The United States Federal Govt. is the biggest corporation we face. Government is no longer the last bastion to protect our rights as given in the Constitution.....its sole purpose is to make money....pure and simple. It's the biggest gang, the biggest Corporation, and the biggest violator of our rights...the biggest liar.....the biggest supporter of the Federal Reserve which has no Federal affiliations about it....it's a privately owned bank........I'm neither left or right......just a person who see's things the way they are......our system is broken.....by greed and power, and they have a goal.........and it's being carried out just like they have planned.......

Fellow protestors: It is very important that we address the obscene concentration of wealth without regard for name, face, industry, ect. We must also disregard what the rich claim to 'give back'. The bottom line is all that matters. Consider this: There are 10 hungry children and 12 sandwiches. If one child takes a second sandwich to satisfy his larger than average appetite, the other 9 children will still get a sandwich each with one to spare. If two children each take a second sandwich, the equation still works for all. But if one or more children take 3 or 4 or 5 sandwiches for themselves, hunger is the direct result. If one child (let's call her Oprah just for the sake of discussion) decides to take 5 sandwiches for herself and 'gives back' one for the less fortunate, then at least one other child must go without. Unless of course, the other children each share one bite. But if Oprah takes 8 sandwiches and 'gives back' 3, then at least two other children will go hungry. And so on and so on. Bottom line: There must be some reasonable limit. Unfortunately, there isn't with our current system. We also have not taken any real steps as a society to prevent our wealth from being horribly concentrated. Charity just doesn't cut it when the rich refuse to settle for anything. We don't need anymore millionaire 'humanitarians'. We need fewer millionaires. It does not matter how much they 'give back'. Afterall, all of them do. Every corporation, every politician, and every single celebrity. It doesn't matter. It will never work this way. It does not matter how much they 'give back'. It matters how much they keep. Remember: The richest one percent in America own over 40 percent of all United States wealth. This is true even after you account for what they 'give back'. It's all PR crap anyway. A similar rule applies within every major economy worldwide. Please keep this vital equation in mind. Otherwise, there will never be a more reasonable distribution of wealth and resources. It does not matter how much the super rich 'give back'. They still keep way too much.

But i ask, respectfully of course, who is any one man to determine what the wealth of another should be? If you came into a few billion dollars would you be any different than the wealthy? We do live in a free market economy, that is not socialist, and we are not communist either, so how can the government or anyone say how much wealt a person can build?

[-] 1 points by Mcc (542) 13 years ago

When the wealth becomes too concentrated, you must start somewhere with some sort of behavior or policy to reverse the trend. We can argue about where or how to start until we take our last breath. But we must start somewhere.

[-] 1 points by Kulafarmer (82) from Kula, HI 13 years ago

Washington! We need to play the game the way it is designed untill we are able to change the design, but only through consensus, the problems are much deeper than disparities in wealth or lack there of, we have many underlying social issues that will claim collateral damage just like a bomb, it is more complicated than they have it we dont somebody needs to redistribute it,

[-] 0 points by gerryb (37) 13 years ago

And how did those 1% get so much? Through the use of government coercion making laws that are to their advantage and the disadvantage of their competitors. Why do 4 corporations control 80% of the chicken(and other livestock) markets, but I am not allowed to raise one single chicken and sell it to my neighbor without going through hundreds of thousands of dollars of red tape. To sell one chicken! My neighbors trust me to produce a good chicken, and want to voluntarily buy it, but I couldn't legally sell it to them without going through all that cost in complying with the government.

The parasites on parade. The malcontents. Maybe even classified as 60's retreads. What a beautiful bunch you are. A sight to behold! Defication on cars, your choice of contraband, naked people & maybe a few quickies in or out of the tents. And you come from all walks of life too! Neo-nazis w/ their antisemtic chants, Marxists & you so-called "well educated" students looking for free food. I've never seen a more pathetic bunch of bottom-feeders. What you are is a rash on our backside. Is this what the Left want us to identify w/? You who demand something for nothing? This is the result of America under the hard core Left allowed to run out of control. Congratulations! Your "movement" has now been endorsed by the communist party, the Nazi party & the Dem party. Take a good look around at the people behind this rash because come Nov '12 all will be thrown out on their backsides. The bigger the rash the bigger the landslide.

Wall Street is the government. It bought the government a long time ago.

[-] 1 points by RichardGates (1529) 13 years ago

nope. nothing wrong with our government. this idea has given rise to the worst of the worst governments. it thrives on anger and blind rebellion to the point of no return, in the newly formed gov the chaos does not allow for adequate organization to meet the demands used to insight the overthrow, so to retain power a distraction is required and the easiest most primal and effective distraction is often a boogyman that the country most overcome in order to fix everything. in this the profiteers make uber cash, that cash is your cash. although no such overthrow has taken place here, the same applies to the perpetual party and power shifting between rival corporate and political factions. "going after the government" is yet another cycle of the same sh!t

[-] 1 points by mgiddin1 (1057) from Linthicum, MD 13 years ago

Yeah and don't forget - they are the biggest bully with all of the guns, tanks, drones, nuclear weapons, and who knows what else.

People who are whining about Wall Street don't seem to get it that Wall Street doesn't have to power to force you to buy their products or put your money in their stocks and banks.

Only the government has the power to rob you, and to then use your own money to imprison you and take away your civil rights (and not to mention those of the citizens of the 8 countries we are currently invading or bombing).

Instead of just complaining and making demands, what solutions can you offer.

What proposed plan of action can you share so that steps can be made in the right direction instead of merely adding to the problem and not the solution?

[-] 2 points by NuclearGuru (12) 13 years ago

I made demands? I didn't see that......all we can do is stand up, and stand together, and hope others will have the balls to do so as well....all across the counntry and say we've had enough......you may step down sir or we will......

[-] 1 points by AnneRidley (73) from New York, NY 13 years ago

It sounds like you'll just be a lot of vertical people without a plan. Stop being lazy and expecting other people to divine what you want/need by magic and come up with a solution!

[-] 1 points by NuclearGuru (12) 13 years ago

Ohhhhhhh...I fotrot to ask....What's YOUR IDEA???????????

[-] 1 points by AnneRidley (73) from New York, NY 13 years ago

I'd like to see an extreme curtailing of campaign financing, major limits on the salaries and benefits of elected officials, and a simplified tax system (a flat tax, but no loopholes - GE should be paying taxes, for God's sake). I also want Social Security to function as a retirement fund, not a Ponzi scheme. For a start.

When I have a clear idea of how to implement any of this, maybe I'll be out in a park yelling. Till then, I'm going to work hard and avoid making empty threats involving brass knuckles.

[-] 1 points by NuclearGuru (12) 13 years ago

I agree on your campaign finance.....and salary limit......however.......my son was born handicapped.....20 years ago......ive taken care of him for 20 years full time.....he does recieve SSI.......Social Security was never started as a retirement fund(Never).......thats just the cold hard facts(It was never meant to be a retirement fund...who told you that?).....wasn't for that......but my son.....at least for me.....I paid into it for him.....and others like him.....I'll probably never see a dime from my acct......and is it wrong? Yes........I got taken weekly.......will my family see any of it? Of course not.......My point to a "T".....the Federal Government is the problem....first and foremost.....

[-] 1 points by AnneRidley (73) from New York, NY 13 years ago

Well, I'm glad it helped your son. I did think Social Security was partially intended for use by the elderly, though - see this: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/42/usc_sup_01_42_10_7.html. Maybe it's imprecise to call it "a retirement fund."

My dad's paid into it for 35 years and will never see a penny of it. It is really, really screwed up (the government).

[-] 1 points by NuclearGuru (12) 13 years ago

Do you know me or even know "What" I am? Do you know what I do? Do you know what I've been doing for the last 20 years? I've been in the trenches....literally....."The trenches".....care to join me? I have an extra pair of knucks......do you prefer plexi or brass? You are a hippy......I already know......While I beat....you preach...you hate me for beating.....yet i serve your cause.....life doesnt exist without a dichotomy........it cant or it will die......

[-] 2 points by AnneRidley (73) from New York, NY 13 years ago

I know you have a serious addiction to ellipses...anyway, no, of course I don't know you. I'm not a hippie, and I don't preach. I just like reasoned arguments more than vague commitments to "standing up for something." It sounds poetic but it really doesn't have any substantial meaning.

[-] 0 points by NuclearGuru (12) 13 years ago

I fucking love ellipses.......is my thing and always has been......My plan or idea is saying fuck you....we dont accept any of it.......we wont be a part of your financial system........we wont support your ways of doing things(dude got arrested for making his own freedom coins...while no law exists saying you cant create your own currency......you just cant counterfeit ours).....Money is the key to our Govt......foreign Govts.......and the world in general.......all Govts. are nothing more than corporations....and beyond poetic...that means saying no, and not participating in taxes(other than local sale...thats a hard one to dodge...but we need anyway), non cash sales, banks and their fees........banks rule our entire world anyway....no banks.....and basically all of us saying fuck you we wont pay that for broccoli.....corn.......lettuce....cux it aint farmer john that sets the price......in fact ol' farmer john doesnt even have the choice of seed to plant.....its the old federal govt......

[-] 1 points by SMHFutureOfHumanity (22) 13 years ago

Fun fact. Government subsidizes farmers so that they don't even need to plant a substantial amount of crops to live comfortably.

[-] 1 points by NuclearGuru (12) 13 years ago

I know that....and they make them plant a certain comapny's seed......

[-] 1 points by AnneRidley (73) from New York, NY 13 years ago

Okay, fair enough. But what do you offer as an alternative to government/corporation? Frighteningly, we might actually be on the same page, here.

[-] 1 points by SMHFutureOfHumanity (22) 13 years ago

What I'm saying is:

Instead of the thousands of OWS protestors angrily complaining over the web, why not be more productive and try to formulate a PLAN.

The reason OWS isn't being taken seriously is because there are so many sporadic demands, no congruency, and serious lack of organization.

If OWS works on this, perhaps steps can be made in the right direction to quell the discontent.

However i do agree. :)

[-] 1 points by freeflyer22 (49) from Portland, OR 13 years ago

this is my sounding board for brainstorming, to synthesize my outrage into a easy non-reactionary logical statement that all understand. I am a busy man and i have been supporting our west coast movement the best i can with what time and resources are available to me, not to mention spending too much time trying to learn more. However this the internet is just as vital as being out there in person, especially the silent majority who have not or cannot be there. This forum and others like it circulate ideas and general discontent that most everyone has, and is furthermore responsible for the spread of the movement equally if not more so than corporate mainstream media. I have not been using this online resource to gripe and argue, at least not primarily, but to sort, learn, and extract information. To help enlighten myself and others just as the actual movement is doing. I have tried to implement polls for movement requests and a lot of other ideas are out there, but i have been also told that this is not a political movement and that you cannot be organizing openly democratic polls to make headway on congruent thought.I am considering finding other more direct outlets to help spur more deliberate demands.

Humanity is on the ropes. The elite who own the money also own the people. Their newest strategy is to globalize the world with this horrific, evil agenda and it's not going to end pretty. Grab you ankles my friend.

You are too right my friend.......sadly

due to budget restraints i am not as equally prepared for violent conflict if such an unfortunate retaliation occurred, but i do have a clear resolve to use the penny a day method; to gather medical supplies, ammunition, food supplies, and any pharmaceuticals that could be helpful in such an unfortunate event.

Start the war against Injustice by starting our own banks to double the income of the Bottom 90% of Workers, for many more people will come to your side when you are proactive (for “new” Business & Government solutions), instead of reactive (against “old” Business & Government solutions), which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive “new” strategy that implements all our various socioeconomic demands at the same time, regardless of party, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 1% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves, and thus doubling our income from Bank Profits which are 40% of all Corporate Profits; that is, using a Focused Direct Democracy organized according to our current Occupations & Generations. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategically Weighted Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

http://getsatisfaction.com/americanselect/topics/on_strategically_weighted_policies_organizational_operating_structures_tactical_investment_procedures

Join

http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/StrategicInternationalSystems/

because we need 100,000 “support clicks” at AmericansElect.org in support of the above bank-focused platform.

Most importantly, remember, as cited in the first link, that as Bank Owner-Voters in your 1 of 48 "new" Business Investment Groups (or "new" Congressional Committees) you become the "new" Congress, and related “new” Businesses, replacing the "old" Congress, and related “old” Businesses, according to your current Occupations & Generations, called a Focused Direct Democracy.

Therefore, any Candidate (or Leader) therein, regardless of party, is a straw man, a puppet, a political opportunist; what's important is the STRATEGY – the sequence of steps – that the people organize themselves under in Military Internet Formation of their Individual Purchasing Power & Group Investment Power. In this, sequence is key, and if the correct mathematical sequence is followed then it results in doubling the income of the Bottom 90% of Workers from today's Bank Profits, which are 40% of all Corporate Profits.

Why? Because there are Natural Social Laws – in mathematical sequence – that are just like Natural Physical Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. You must follow those Natural Social Laws or the result will be Injustice, War, etc.

The FIRST step in Natural Social Law is to CONTROL the Banks as Bank Owner-Voters. If you do not, you will inevitably be UNJUSTLY EXPLOITED by the Top 1% Management System of Business & Government who have a Legitimate Profit Motive, just like you, to do so.

Consequently, you have no choice but to become Candidates (or Leaders) yourselves as Bank Owner-Voters according to your current Occupations & Generations.

So please JOIN the 2nd link, and spread the word to as many as possible, so we can make 100,000 support clicks at AmericansElect.org when called for, at exactly the right time, by an e-mail from that group, in support of the above the bank-focused platform. If so, then you will see and feel how your goals can be accomplished within the above strategy as a “new” Candidate (or Leader) of your current Occupation & Generation.
