Looks like OWS has a spokesperson whether you guys like it or not. Watch Michael Whore on CNN tonight discussing the 1%. I knew he'd would find a way to make a buck off of this thing!

He is not our spokesperson, but he does a good job when it comes to our objective!

[-] 0 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Oh come on....you might as well get Brian Moynihan as well!

[-] 4 points by NielsH (212) 13 years ago

OWS has no monopoly on discussions about 99% v 1%. Be glad there are people with a platform speaking out about the same issues. This is not a game of popularity, but a struggle to get things changed.

Moore will divert as much as he can Spin things As long as the people believe they have a voice they're happy. That's Moore's job

[-] 0 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Thats scary.... do you mean to tell me that M/M is like a big money grabing capitalist coach/cheerleader, trying to convince us that we have a voice that we really don't have?

[-] -2 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Last week I asked where's you spokesperson and the answer I got was "we don't need one". So this week it's alright that M/M takes the helm? I think that's a bad choice, because the media does not take him seriousely, he comes off as half comedian!

[-] 2 points by Jbear (60) from Greenfield, MA 13 years ago

Did you even read the post you responded to? He didn't say that it's okay that Moore's taken the helm, he said it's a good thing if ANYONE wants to speak about these issues. And just because someone famous is talking about it, doesn't make them the spokesperson for the movement.

[-] 1 points by NielsH (212) 13 years ago

I don't see MM being a spokes person of OWS, not should he be, but he is free to discuss the same issues OWS raises. He has been doing much of that for a long time.

[-] 0 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Do u think if 20 people were marching M/M would give a dam!

[-] 2 points by NielsH (212) 13 years ago

MM has been talking about these issues long before people were marching under the name OWS. What's your point?

[-] 0 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

read the post's thats my point!

[-] 2 points by NielsH (212) 13 years ago

I read your post and responded to it. MM speaks about similar issues as OWS, but that doesn't make him a spokes person for OWS.

The issues addressed by OWS are not new and people throughout history have spoken about these very issues. Long after OWS people will keep talking about these issues.

OWS has decided it is a leaderless movement, so there is no official spokesperson, though many people will speak their mind and say things similar to what OWS stands for. That's part of living in at least a partially free society.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

But what I do not like about him is with each group he attaches himself to he get richer and doesent really change anything. He speculates trash talks then leaves with a pile of money!

[-] 4 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

Michael Moore told a caller that wanted to buy his book that he shouldn't even buy it, because books cost too much.

Moore is on our side.

[-] -1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Did he burn his check from the publisher to?

[-] 2 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

You don't want people to take handouts, but when they make an honest living like Moore you complain. Good God.

Nobody is against honest money.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

If he just came out and said "I'm a capitalist pig" And then went on with it, I'd be all right with that...... But he comes off as being Mr. self-righteous! And besides isn't it time hollywood came out with something original instead of remakes of everything! The general public is so forgiving when it comes to entertainment. Michel Moore should try new material or a different take on it, instead of remaking something that these kids came up with, let them have their victory without him cashing in on it!

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

We are talking about oligarchs. Moore is not an oligarch. He is just a schlub from Flint Michigan.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

I'll still watch CNN tonight any hoo.....I need a good laugh!

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

He was on Democracy Now today. He wants to end capitalism.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Your right about that, but he's not exactly Robin Hood either!

[-] 1 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

He's a good man. I do know that.

[-] 4 points by metapolitik (1110) 13 years ago

Um... Michael Moore helped start this whole thing.

Anyway, he is just one in a very long, long list of unofficial 'spokespeople'.

Can't see how this is a bad thing.

[-] 0 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Corporate greed and hollywood greed are the same thing! And being aware of something and starting something are two different things

[-] 1 points by metapolitik (1110) 13 years ago

I said 'helped start'.

Anyway, Moore is not Hollywood, he's Flint MI.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

He's hollywood now!

[-] 1 points by metapolitik (1110) 13 years ago

I beg to differ

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Oh come what he win a grammy or an emmy or both.... that his induction he's part of the elite... don't kid yourself!

[-] 1 points by metapolitik (1110) 13 years ago

Be that as it may.

He helped trigger these protests and he is one of the few voices out there that represent me, my family or my interests.

He could be making more Hollywood trash like almost every other film director out there, but instead he has used his power for the good of our nation and in the service of what is right.

I commend him.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

You know that theaters will show independent filmakers movies to the public for free, did m/m ever consider that?

[-] 1 points by metapolitik (1110) 13 years ago

Since when?!

You need to back that up with a link.

When have you EVER seen an independent film in any theater... Anywhere.. Ever?!

Even so-called 'art-house' theaters charge top dollar.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

If you have a independant film chances are your local theater will show it upon request and often times for free. Of course during off hours and first come basis.

[-] 1 points by metapolitik (1110) 13 years ago

Again, without providing links to support this claim, it is just that.

Your claim.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

In my town one of the movie theaters works with a local college and the theater arts and film program. They allots time for student filmmakers each month. I'm not going to do a research project on the subject for you, I'm sure most theaters that do this like to keep it on a limited basis. Thats why you do not see it all over the internet.

[-] 0 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

No Steve Jobs did not invent the telephone!

[-] 1 points by metapolitik (1110) 13 years ago

About time someone finally pointed that out.

[-] 3 points by thebeastchasingitstail (1912) 13 years ago

You concern trolls are more sickening than the monkeys like "tednugent" on this forum.

Michael Moore didn't need to show up at OWS to "make a buck" he has a following.

He showed up in the first few days of the protest and helped turn the tide of getting this thing media coverage and having it start being taken seriously.

Stop with the bullshit concern troll crap you are fooling no one.

Michael Moore is not "THE Spokesperson" but he is an ally & a supporter.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

He accepts donations, why not look into it, if your so hot ofr the guy!

[-] 3 points by KnowingOne (54) 13 years ago

It has for one thing brought us all here together in one place.

Where we can communicate with one another. That's big.

Remember during world war two it was illegal to have or operate a ham radio.

From here we can plan, discuss issues, even hold an election post polls.

Elect a leader etc

Someday the I love America but hate Americans crowd is going to understand that the more they spew their hatred the more they marginalize themselves. It doesn't matter what the target of hatred does or says, the hatred doesn't need logic, it doesn't need reason, it just needs a target. The target of the haters in this post just happen to hate Michael Moore, not for any of the reasons they state, but because his voice is listened to. If the Hate Americans crowd doesn't have control over a human resource from conception until after death it isn't happy, and unfortunately Mr. Moore is one of those unruly Americans who refuses to concede control.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Love, puppy dogs and kitty cats, bright sunshiny days, candy canes, and wet kisses to you.... And FYI, cordoba house is conducting a prayer session today at 3:00pm

[-] 2 points by paplanner (58) from Mt Union, PA 13 years ago

paulg5, no answer of any kind is going to satisfy you. You are a hater, pure and simple, discussion with haters is impossible, debate with haters is useless and to be honest about it, its not like who you hate has any importance in the grand scheme of things, within 20 years the Chinese will be dictating world economic policy, just hope its kinder and gentler than what you got now.

[-] 2 points by frankchurch1 (839) from Jersey City, NJ 13 years ago

One thing Moore could do is to tell CNN, sure, I will come on, but Greg Palast has to come too.

[-] 2 points by bensdad (8977) 13 years ago

I hate censorship - but name calling might get me to change my mind - but maybe not - name calling is a crystal clear tip off to the author's intelligence.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

So either I'm stupid or he is?

[-] -1 points by KnowingOne (54) 13 years ago

I agree

[-] -1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

If he just came out and said "I'm a capitalist pig" And then went on with it, I'd be all right with that...... But he comes off as being Mr. self-righteous!

[-] -1 points by sickmint79 (516) from Grayslake, IL 13 years ago

he's an idiot. i've seen multiple videos of him admitting the problem is crony capitalism, yet that is not how he titled his movie, and his rhetoric is always merely anti-capitalism. the only part about OWS that makes any sense are the people that understand this is the real problem. moore is dishonest.

[-] -1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

He should put his money where his mouth is!

[-] -2 points by anonymouse (154) 13 years ago

Who's that? Michael Moore? He certainly is well fed, isn't he? I wonder when the last time was he missed a meal?

[-] 0 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

If he starts comming to the rally's you guys better stock up, or else make donations manditory!

[-] 1 points by thebeastchasingitstail (1912) 13 years ago

Learn how to spell and use apostrophes correctly, you ignoramus.

[-] 1 points by paulg5 (673) 13 years ago

Sorry their u go!

If he starts coming to the rally's you guys better stock up, or else make donations mandatory!

[-] -2 points by AntiCorp (187) 13 years ago

Michael Moore is just one of many, many people making money off of the OWS. The best part is that the people who are making the money off of OWS are the very ones who say they support it....if I was making money off of OWS, I would support it too!
