You ask what we want.
What we want is for our government to care more about the 99% than it does about re-election or how much money they will get from their PAC. That is what we want.
We want actual accountability for our elected officials. If you fuck over the 99%, you will personally pay for it. That is what we want.
We want big business to care about their customers and their society rather than the bottom line. That is what we want. It is a cycle that must be broken. Business says they have a fiduciary responsibility to their stock holders, that is why they must maximize profits over all else. The only ones that care are the hedge fund owners and the investment bankers who have enough and do not actually MAKE anything. People that simply have a 401k or individually invest would rather you actually do good by your customers and employees, the stock will rise. Look at Steve Jobs and Apple. He focused on what his customers want, what was good for them, and his stock rose, and rose. We want the 1% to realize without the 99%, you have 0. That is what we want.
We want a change. That is what we want.
We want you to be an observer of history. That is what we want.
We want you to know, while we have remained silent, we have found our voice. We are coming. That is what we want.
We want you to fear. For what you have can be lost. It is your decision, it is your choice. That is what we want.
We do not want a re-distribution of wealth. You have created and made it, but be responsible about it and stop your rhetoric about being “taxed enough”. We see through it. That is what we want
We want you to act like a responsible grown up. That is what we want.
We want politicians to get along and actually WORK together putting their dogma aside and think of someone else. THAT is what we want.
We want you to stop putting your beliefs on the 99%. That is what we want.
We want you to look at yourselves when you call us “dangerous”. Think back at some of your demonstrations over the past few years. We don’t bring weapons. That is what we want.
We want you to know, that unlike you, we are ACTUALLY too big to fail, and in this endeavor, we will not. That is what we want.
We want you to know we are aware, we are awake, we are angry. Be warned That is what we want.
the only thing that matters right now is CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM, unless you get the big money out of politics, no change whatsoever will occur, this should be the focus of the protests, we need to have honest politicians that work for the public before any thing else can get done, campaign finance reform (ending corporate personhood, kicking the lobbyists out of the Washington) is the perfect starting point. It really is a no brainer that this should be the one thing we can all agree on. Because unless we do this, all those other demands that people have will never be addressed, not in a millions years.
Your assumption is that I do not work and have not paid off my student loans? Quite an assumption. I do have a job, I and my wife make a good living. I paid off my student loans, and it took me 16 years to do so. I fear that the current generation will be paying them off for far longer.
The rest of your rant, I'm not going to argue with you. You've made some assumptions about me and those that are behind the movement that are incorrect. I'm not going to even attempt to change your mind on the internet, as it sounds very closed to me anyway. Take care!
Okay, I have to jump in here. Steve Jobs and Apple focused on what his customers wanted and not what was good for the company? Do you know ANYTHING about this company??? He was a genius and a brilliant innovator, but you could not be more wrong. Read a book.
We want YOU to know that we are not afraid. Because we are finding our voices as well.
If you want all of these things, then take your own advice and act like a responsible grown up.
You are not the 99%, far from it. You are not dangerous. You are acting silly.
You don't know what people do with their money once it has been earned, stop pretending you do.
We want you to actually work, like so many of the people you are so angry at, 6-7 days a week, pay off your student loans (like they did) and make a better life for yourself. Or we want you to stop complaining because others have more. You have choices in life, and with choices come consequences. You live with them or change your choices.
What we agree on is that corruption in government must end. So let's focus there, shall we?
