...unless you keep your money in your pillow cover. Economics 101 will teach you that economic flows are circular. Hence, if you have a bank account, or even investment funds or stocks (possibly in your pension scheme), you belong to the "real evil", the people that give money to wall street. If you get a loan to build a house, you buy "their" service because its cheaper than anywhere else. The beauty of the capitalist system is that you as consumers can dictate who receives the money (99% of the consumers can change everything... if they REALLY wanted).

YOU are the 1%.

PS: A well meant advise: What you demand can seriously impact the individual freedom and thereby tear down the pillars of the constitution and of the american dream. It can be done. It's a democratic society. But first, you need to say how you want to change the system (or do you seriously want the "1%" evil people to figure out a solution to your problem with them?). Second, you need to be aware of the consequences. You not only affect "some mean bad guy", but first of all, yourself, people who make your living possible (or is there a constitutional right to get a bank loan to build a house? I don't think so.), and people who have made america into one of the most advanced nations in the world (would you say that Steve Jobs did not deserve a share of the companies with which he transformed virtually everybody's lives? If you agree, how do you differentiate steve jobs from the "bad guy")?

You are not the first movement (as the financial crisis is not the first). The only good way you can move something is to provide MORE INTELLIGENT solutions to the problem. I would suggest basic readings in philosophy (Locke, Hume, Mill), and economics (e.g. Hayek, Friedman, ...).

Do not become the 99% riffraff! THINK!

i think the first step to the solution is for everyone to understand the problem, because many still don't get it, and i think this is a good quick explanation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acLW1vFO-2Q

Only thru GOD we can get rid of these killers subduing and oppressing us all right know. Unless we unveil the fact that 90% of these oppressors are semites (jews and arabs) reigning from the top leadership of their media, entertainment, financial and military institutions like IMF, CIA, FBI, Pentagon, UN, CNN, Hollywood, etc and their counterparts from Russia, EU, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Great Britain, etc, reigning from the top leadership of the so called national banks of all the contries comprised into the Mason Empire’s cloak, we can’t defeat this Beast, this monster well hinted in the Bible where the jew apostles and prophets clearly show that semites will reign the world. Don’t forget what God says: many of the first will be the last. But who is God in this maze of beliefs? It’s the pleasure that makes YOU THRU LOVE NOT TO KILL, NOT TO STEAL, NOT TO FORNICATE, NOT TO MAKE PERJURY AGAINST ANOTHER MAN, NOT TO CRAVE FOR ANY POSSESSION OF ANOTHER MAN. That’s God according to the Bible, and unless we follow these pleasures irrespective of our official religions (budism, islam, catholicism, orthodoxism, judaism, christianity, paganism, etc that we are in to by birth) we are not really people of God, we are not christians at all, we cannot overcome these killers at the top leadership of the Mason Empire who plainly want to kill us all right people nowadays. Therefore, irrespective of us being semites or non semites, irrespective of our race and nationality, sex and official religions we are in to by birth, united by the 5 pleasures dictated by LOVE, therefore by GOD, we can overcome the beast made up of these one percent of evil men that installed upon us all the people of the planet the most evil dictatorship.

There are good executives and there are bad executives.

Right now there are many bad executives and most of the nice ones are retired.

Dear freedom american fighters. I'm a romanain citizen and i want you to know that the main stream of liberation has to come from you, as in a small coutry like mine ruled by your army and the masons behind it, doing what you are doing would mean an external media and army attack, ocupation and lost of the country. On the other hand, by being a nuclear power, you can clean up the mess in America without being afraid of an external attack and you can therefore fight to clean up the chaos done mostly by the jews and their arab brothers, by their evil organisation, the masonry that stole all our political and administrative rulers, tycoons whose main goal is to take as many money as possible from your, our taxes and send them to Israel, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and other main semites locations. The IMF represents Israel’s financial army by which the jews stole all our assets, the price of our unpaid work that they gave back to us the non semites as loans. We buy everything by borrowing our money that the jews don’t give us from our working places and than they chide us for making mortagages we can no longer pay back. They are affectively taking us out of our houses, shutting down out hospitals, schools, creating the environment in which we are forced to die, to fade away. Don’t forget that Israel was firstly recongnised in 1947 by Soviet Union and than by the USA, both capitalist and comunist systems been thus plainly representing Israel, the new empire: The Mason Empire, comprised by the two capitalist and comunist superpowers, Australia, Europe, Africa, the most parts of South America, Japan, etc. The main features of the Mason Empire? All the political, financial and adminstrative rulers have as their main goal to serve Israel and his other semite allies rallying among the main semite fiefs: Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, not to mention Israel...They are our masters nowadays, the dire masters over the american people, over the russian people, over the romanian people, over the all peoples of the Mason Empire. Our political rulers that are on power and opposition represent the same masonic and thus satanic organisation, the masonry in which the men swear allegiance to theTemple of Solomon, the evil king that abandoned God and indulged himself and the people in witchcraft, idolatry to other gods, killings, fornications while pretending to be a religious man. For them, the masons, God and other gods are the same thing, they are telling that publically, in a nutshel to bow to Satan is the same to bowing to God. There is no chance the fact that ateism was installed by the masons thru that evildoer mason, Darwin who in Galapagos filled monkey bones along with his father and grandfather in order to look like man’s bones and thus pretending they have proof of man coming out of monkey. Despite this deeds being unveilled by nowadays microscopes these bones are still exposed as ineluctible proofs of the man coming out of the monkey at the Smithsonian Museum. Unless you, us fight in the name of Biblical christianity we won’t succeed in our goal of liberating from the semites dictatorship very well represented by mason jews like Soros, Nobel, Rockefeller and so on. God speed! The romanian people is with you, but after so many years of ocupation we can not manifest explicitly, been forced to migrate from one place to another to survive and therefore no longer being united. You are the last rampart against the masonic rulers that want to killl all the peoples on Earth, except semites. It’s a tragedy that the people who wrote the Bible, the word of God, the people that gave the apostles, the main prophets, the Mesia killed most of these apostles, prophets and Mesia. As they say, nobody’s a prophet in his own country, but regardless of our being semites or not, black or whites, yelow or brown, thru the principles of God can forge up an undestructable body, people of God thru the ones that don’t kill, don’t steal, don’t fornicate, don’t make perjury and don’t crave for anything from their fellows, sweeping away these killers of prophets and their heirs that are nowadays dragging us down into slavery and death, fornication and savage society, into a society where killers and tramps have more rights upon us and even rule us all imposing these evil laws in which killers, whores and thieves are let alone to live among us and even rulling us the God’s rules obeying people. Don’t let yourselves being duped by the secret agents infiltrated among you and pushing you to do indecent or evil things in order to denigrate you, the last rampart against the Mason Empire ruled by the offsprings of the killers that assassinated semite prophets, apostles and Mesia.

I'm sorry but this just isn't true. Just because you make investments of different sorts does not make you a member of the 1%. The 1% is measurable - it is, by definition, the highest percentile of personal net worth. Very few people are members of the 1% - one out of 100, in fact. Please don't use your sophistry to try redefine terms so that these measurable variables become meaningless. As for Steve Jobs, he clearly was a member of the 1%. I recognize that it's rude to speak ill of the dead, but he had his share of faults, as do we all. For one, Apple was involved in very monopolistic practices - much more so than the PC compatibles. Of course he deserved a share in these corporations, but the issue is that he as an individual had an unjustly large share. Democracy is better than autocracy, not only ethically but also economically - and this applies to corporations just as much as it does to governments. Visionaries like Jobs deserve a share, but so do all the workers (many of whom created the ideas that made Jobs famous and rich), and right now, in most corporations (like Apple), workers have no democratic control, and there is no check or balance on the power of CEOs and executive boards. That's why constitutions like the one at http://constitution.wikia.com/index.php?title=AnonymousConstitution&s=wldiff&diff=0&oldid=2397 insist that workers gain at least some kind of democratic voice in decision making. Being part of the 99% "riffraff" is not an ideology, and it's not a choice. Most of us have been, unfortunately, born into it. You need to do some "thinking." (And by the way, I've read Locke, Hume, Mill, Hayek, and Friedman.)

it's not that they are bad people, no not at all. they can very well help establish the world and help young entrepreneurs. however, there is a point of helping but also slowly bleeding everyone. how about bring jobs back instead of outsourcing, finding cheaper ways of making products and increasing ceo profits by letting go u.s. citizens from there jobs by giving other countries with a lower economy base. nothing is made in the united states anymore. why can't people ask for those jobs back, at least bring back the staple type products that are a daily purchase for all united states citizens. also if all these corporations want tax breaks, make them put a certain amount of money in reforming education and re-build this country's infrastructure.

[-] 1 points by ConfusedSceptic (80) 13 years ago

Just a question: how do you propose to bring outsourced jobs back to this country?

Humans are, by nature, greedy. Lets explore a hypothetical where countries are people. If Country A (America) says "I'll mow your lawn for twenty bucks" and Country B (Brazil) says "I'll do it for ten" and Country C (China) says "I'll do it for five", which one are you most likely to choose?

The reason people don't want to move their business back to America is because they can get "it" cheaper there than here.

Not to mention that corporate tax rates in America can be some of the highest in the world. According to the data I've seen, in the "big name countries" we're second only to Japan in corporate tax rate, and that's discounting the states' corporate tax.

it's called class. it's called being an u.s. citizen, being there for each other. it's sad when the only times we come together is when it's to late. it's called personal sacrifice, have you not ever heard the saying "take it for the team." seriously, if i can purchase something locally even if it's way high priced, i will before i will ever go to a super store. plus the stuff that is from a local store is usally higher quality. don't we all seek quality in the things we need? is that not human nature, to find better and long lasting solutions?

[-] 1 points by ConfusedSceptic (80) 13 years ago

Since I'm having so many problems with people taking my remarks to seriously, I'm going to go ahead and put a disclaimer: The following is SARCASM.

Okay, so buy my totally "made in America" iPad rip-off I made. It'll only cost you $2000-3000. I can totally justify this by the fact that I have to pay about 7-10 times as much to my American employees as my competitor pays to his Chinese ones.

Sarcasm ended.

But seriously, would you take that deal above?

[-] 1 points by colearthur (12) from Hays, KS 13 years ago

i already have, but not w/ an ipad. but with a bicycle. bought a 2,000 bike that is actually made locally instead of buying the 300 dollar one at a lower quality made in china. plus if you consider all that money spent on your "iPad rip-off" all pools back to the citizens. helping build parks, cleaner energy, better school systems and so forth. I really don't see any harm in doing so. but if we actually do convert all the factories back, then yes people would have to pick and choose instead of the "i'll have everything" attitude.

[-] 1 points by ConfusedSceptic (80) 13 years ago

But I never specified whether my rip-off was of higher quality or not. In fact, I generally take the words "rip-off" to mean "of lesser quality" (as opposed to "imitator" to mean "of similar or higher quality"). You're seriously saying you'd pay 4-6x as much for an inferior (or at best, equal) product, just for the little "made in America" stamp I have on it?

If so, kudo's to you. You obviously have way to much disposable income. Those of us living on a budget don't quite have that luxury.

[-] 1 points by colearthur (12) from Hays, KS 13 years ago

well if your going to continue w/ the rip off thing as lesser quality then no i wouldn't buy it. that company is a failure. plus i make minimum wage plus student loans to pay back.
