The article is an op-ed piece, shown by the label commentary. That in and of itself is always a warning to me that the piece is liable to contain strongly slanted "information" that needs to be fact checked afterwards.

If this was a journalistic piece, I would have been surprised, but as an "opinion" piece, there are few limits to what someone can say, or how it is said.

It's a terrible, terrible thing what happened to that girl in Cleveland. Nothing anyone says or does can change that.

However that is not reflective of Occupy's message. Rape happens in the US Military too. Does that make all American service men and women bad? Of course not. Date rape is frequent on college campuses. Does that mean colleges condone rape? Of course not.

The yahoo piece is trying to charge Occupy with guilt by association. So the Nazi party claims to support Occupy. But does the majority of Occupy supporters support the Nazi party? Of course not.

The Nazi Party also supports America. In fact they believe they are protecting America from foreign invaders and evil people bent on destroying America. Does that mean most Americans support Nazi party? Of course not.

Yeah, there are some truly sick people slandering this movement. It's really sad.

yea, I saw other hateful stories there too, not sure if it's the same author but I notice he is part of the "Yahoo Contributor Network" I guess that's something like being a blogger on huffo?

We should complain and tell them to get better "contributors"

It's so blatantly one-sided and inaccurate...is the Yahoo Contributor Network troll central?

[-] 1 points by thebeastchasingitstail (1912) 13 years ago

I haven't paid that much attention to it but I do know the "blogging" component of the local news site for the suburb I used to live in was overrun with conservative hate radio listeners and it was ironic because we were a blue community in a blue state.

They seemed to make a point of grabbing up these blogging oppotunities so they have a platform from which to spew.

Same stuff they did to the Tea Party

[-] 1 points by HitGirl (2263) 13 years ago

Really? Site the story.

Not Yahoo specifically, but Jesse Jackson claimed he was shouted at while holding a video camera, and later refused to release the tape.

This happened within your movement, how is that slander?
