On the occupation AND Steve Jobs AND Troy Davis. Trying to think through more radical explanations to better situate ourselves, and thus better equip ourselves to continually question the terms of democracy and better account for the world in which we must act.
It's been amazing to watch such unlikely coalitions come together. And of course, we need more more, and new ways of coming together.
First, I want to say that I have never felt the exuberance and motivation I feel in connection with this movement. It has awakened my conscience and clarified my position. I am a writer and poet who wants to see more people contribute their writings about the occupation. We tried to get an impromptu reading together yesterday but things were very busy and it was difficult to find people to come forward. I am coming back on Saturday and Sunday and want to try and get some kind of public reading going. People could read wnatever they want. I believe this public sharing is important and that expressing ourselves through poetry and other writings could help the occupation find sustainability. I may post a poem I wrote here as well as elsewhere, but it's six pages long and I'm not sure how it will come out. Is anyone interested in joining in some kind of reading this weekend. We can do it with passion and dignity, not pretension.
I wish I was there!
